I'm trying to find the best price, journey time is not particularly important, for the following journey:

York to Birmingham International - Saturday 14th April AM
Birmingham International to York - Sunday 15th April PM

Journey would be for 2 adults, no railcards.

Starting place was Advances totalling £127.

So far the best I have found is £88.80:
York-Derby (Advance on the 06.17) £11 x2
Derby-Birmingham International (Off Peak Return) £17.40 x2
Derby-York (Advance on a number of evening services) £16 x2

Are you happy to travel via other modes of transport?.

If you are then this option comes to around £60, using Megabus from Leeds.

Off Peak Return York to Leeds £16.00 x 2 = £32.00. Take either the 0557 York to Leeds 0622 or 0613 York to Leeds 0649 on the Saturday Morning.

Then using Megabus from :

Leeds, Kirkgate Stand K14 0720 direct to Birmingham International Airport 1030. £7.00 x 2 = £14.00

Returning on the Sunday after 3pm :

Birmingham International Airport 1610 direct to Leeds, Kirkgate Stand K14 2005. £7.00 x 2 = £14.00
