A group of us (IanXC, Starmill, Oscar, table38, yorksrob and myself) are planning to walk from York to Riccall this Sunday (4th September), along the trackbed of the former ECML, which starts at the site of the Park & Ride (formerly Chaloners Whin Junction) and finishes at the site of a former level crossing, where the track bed is taken up by the A19. The line was re-routed to avoid Selby in 1983.

Some information about the route is here: https://www.york.ac.uk/solar/

Anyone else want to join us?

If you require any further information you can either reply here or send me a PM.

Out of interest, is the scale representation of the Solar system still there?

Yes, it's a good route to do, though I am a bit bored of it personally as I've done it dozens of times, even I've been been paid to cycle it a few times through work! But for anyone who hasn't yet done it, it's a must!

Apologies, I missed the link, wouldn't have asked the question had I seen that! Must have been more than a decade since I went down there on two wheels and 34 years since I went down on 80 (on an HST).

Presumably at least one pub in Bish will get a visit. Enjoy!
