323s aren't too bad, they do the job and sound quite funny (bit like a Notworker IIRC). Haven't been on one though, so can't comment on the innards.

In terms of state and comfort they are right at the bottom of the unit league, if you can find a window that you can see through the scratches you are lucky, seats are rock hard. I used to hate it when I commuted on one

Most of us seem to have a favourite MTU'd power car. Mine is 43133. Noisest MTU about. And I have a fridge magnet with a photo of it when it was real. Lush. Of course, my favourite real power car is 43019 (RIP) for all-time, current mainline one would be 002. Always been one of the better ones.

I'm not a fan of 323s. Not very comfortable, or nice to be in at all. They do make cool noises though lol

I do like the noise 323s make. One of the nicer things about a vegging session at Birmingham New Street.

Certainly not the most comfortable unit, but I'd rather a 323 to a 142.

Oh so you liked the Asbestos sandwiches you got whilst trundling through deepest Kent, had one to many bad pies, prefered the extra seats on the 6S :)

That's why i like them lol the sound is nice, but yes certainly not comfy and the chavs window scratching is very annoying

Are you lucky enough to have been on or seen a 395 in action yet? if so, do you have any pictures?

Might seem odd, but having seen a couple I would call them underrated locos. The noise is impressive when you consider their age.

67006 is possibly the most Rateable out of the lot. Quite the monster it was on a Maiden Newton - Westbury move earlier this year!
