Don't know if this site has been mentioned before, but it is highly amusing!

just shows how incredibly unrealistic MSTS is! I mean, wtf is this all about?

Like Trainz, it feels like a simulation of a TOY railway. Not a simulation of a real railway. It's funny from the point of view of laughing at the shocking game physics.

However I realise some people who have been involved, or know people who were involved, in some sort of crash, may not appreciate this site, so I suggest that anyone who that applies to does not look at it (if you don't follow this advice, then you can't really complain though).

Thing is though, a simulator isn't about making crashes look realistic. It's very rare you will crash during the course of the simulation so I don't think it matters whether the graphics for crashing are good or not. TBH I think they should work on physics.

Even my brother who doesn't give a f**k about trains thought it unrealistic that trains just go through houses which aren't solid  and when trains collide into buffers, the rest of the carriages swing from left to right! Soooooooo unrealistic, but quite funny.

Lmao who gives a monkeys a$$ if it doesn't pefectly within 1CM of a real train when it crashes at an exact speed?

Great site, something to laugh at.

Collision Dynamics are actaully extremely difficult things to recreate. Look at Hollywood movies, how often is a crash or explosion done virtually? Compared to how many times they do it with real models and explosives. The processing power to calculate high box detection on a grand scale and then momentum is beyond the reach of current home processing power (at least to do it real time. Rendering a predefined scene is quite possible). So the best and most efficient methods are employed. Yes crashing in TrainSIm becomes a bit toy like, but its not a cheap feature. Look at MSFS, cracked windscreen and 'Crashed'.

On the flip side, its also politically correct, as no railway company is going to want 'realistic' pictures of its brand spashing to pieces (because of this Gran Turismo doesnt feature damage, and it has the best licenses in the world to model cars). Eurostar wont authorise MSTS products because of crashing, and several US firms are the same.

regarding comments about trains not hitting surrounding scenery, I wonder if this will be resolved with KRS.....

Trainz is advertised as ''Model Rail Road Simulator'' though
