My user name includes the time of a train I used to get every day, which no longer exists after a timetable change some years ago!

Not to mention the apparent disparity between user name and chosen rolling stock avatar (which, oddly, also applies to D365's!).

I like the Deltics, but I also like the Class 365. See my dilemma?

It would be fascinating to know the basis of peoples' user names as a thread in its own right. There must some interesting background material there.

I wonder if I should change my user name every May and December, as well as shift by a few minutes during the leaf fall season?

Mod Note: Posts #1 - #7 were originally contained in the linked thread here.

Whatever it is, it could be giving the impression that you are some sort of company rep!

Indeed, and there was I thinking there was a class 40 element involved!

I suppose mine's pretty self explanatory.
I live at Cowley Bridge.
Trouble is my family have started calling me it at times too.

Mine is the super form of Sonic the Hedgehog (abbreviated to SS) and my favourite number. It has nothing to do with either Essex or Nazism

As I have always lived alongside (at least from the age of three) the Stockport to Stalybridge line, mine simply comes from the the former signalbox located roughly a half mile down the line from where we reside, the location is now known as Ash Bridge Junc. since the line was singled from here to Denton in 1988.

I did toy with the idea of a shortened version of where I work but decided that might not be such a good idea......

So went for my favourite loco instead (just as well that it didn't end up getting preserved or it might have given the impression that I was some sort of official spokesperson!):

Mine is just a username I've had since forever on various forums.

When I went to university in Aberystwyth I started online gaming under OnTheEdgeofWales, that was too long for quick in game typing so people starting calling me Edge or TheEdge and it stuck and I use it for most internet forums.

I'm thankfully not in or a fan of U2.

My 'namesake' is one of these (fairly rare now) American GE AC6000CW diesels:

(photo from CraigZ on www.rmweb.co.uk):

I once saw (and more to the point, heard) one of them 'in the metal' - 6000hp from a single V16 four-stroke diesel engine makes a lot of noise... :)

I'd assumed the reason was more "edgy" than that.

As for my username, my avatar is the clue.

Robbie Fowler (Or God) and his shirt number, after being number 23 of course. Scored lots of goals for Liverpool and is from my end of town. Famous for saying "Erm" a lot when being interviewed. Photo is a PeruRail train trundling through the middle of Aguas Calientes which is the jumping off point for Machu Picchu. Took the photo on my round the world jolly.

Mine's an invented pseudonum dating back to when I did pen-and-paper roleplaying at high school many moons ago. When I created an account here, I picked one from my existing list of aliases.

I considered changing my username to something more railwayesque, but figured that I'd be better off sticking with the name you all know me by.

I always thought there was an element of Dragonball's Super Saiyan (4) as well as Sonic the Hedgehog to your nick. The fact that both turn yellow when going 'super' probably influenced my misunderstanding.

Not from my end but there are parallels between Super Saiyan and Super Sonic

507021 is my favourite Merseyrail unit, so that's what username I chose.

I am a fan of Minis. The car not the skirt.....ok the skirt as well.....but mainly the car.
And by Mini I mean a proper Mini. Not the BMW abomination.
I have owned four at various times and would love another
