May I suggest Hayle Retail Park, where you are able to photograph 8bph, but you could get run over in the process of getting the photo due to lack of a footpath opposite the stop!

Thanks, great idea.

I hope the driver who got off a MMC this morning at Camborne is okay btw. He alighted and promptly walked into the wing mirror and banged his head. As I said when the blue one's arrived first the rear lower deck seats also have a potential to give you a bump on your bonce as they have a step up to them.

T1 is 4bph, what else calls there? The T2 doesn't.

Oops, I didn't realise the T2 avoids it! I wonder if 8 bph was considered too many from the one stop, especially when you factor in the seasonal 57 and the St Ives independent.

T2 turns past Lidl and goes up that way to Connor Downs, T1 does west cornwall retail park then up past McDonald's to Connor Downs.
What frequency is the st Ives independent? I seen their orange Dart and a white Solo whilst I was down this week.

Royal operate hourly to/from the Retail Park from about midday to 7 p.m. Last summer there were later evening services too, but now M&S have reverted to 7 p.m. closing this may not apply this summer.

Royal buses service 150 goes via the retail park but only from June to September.

The 150 registration was cancelled in September last year however St Ives Bus Company extended the St Ives Town Service 1 to Hayle from the end of January on a 45 min headway.

What I have heard is the later trips will run but not via the retail park, the timetables are still to be confirmed though.

There is no point serving the retail park in the evening, when the shops are closed. There is in the summer big money from the Hayle holiday parks to st Ives. I am sure I recall the former WG driver who uses this forum saying he often took £150 a trip when doing Hayle to st Ives for WG.

I don't believe first serve it early morning or late evening either

The summer service last year served the retail park from 1213 to 1913 late June to late September with the three later trips running mid July to mid September.

I agree there is no point going round there if the shops are closed this summer after 7pm.

It will be interesting to see how the 57 does this summer especially if it is operated by open top buses.

I have no idea what the next one's are, suffice to say the two you mention were converted at Camborne and painted elsewhere.

I'll try and find out.

None are finished yet. The first two have been cut and shut and painted.
The seats are away for retrimming. The upper deck floors are being treated this weekend.
The third is due to be cut commencing Monday.

Thanks for the information, can you provide any fleet numbers of future conversions?

Here's one of them in Truro on Friday still with its lid in place. The 51 plate ALX was in Truro as well, would have tried harder for a photo had I known it was going topless!

It's hard to believe they are still 15 year old buses!

I'd like to think so. There's obviously a fair bit of expense in all this converting

I can think of a less costly way of doing it. ;)

Network rail bill the bus operators considerable sums for hitting their bridges.

Saying that I know of a disused railway bridge a little to the north of Liskeard with a 12ft clearance that network rail will never need to know about!

I can think of a few around my area too - the one at Chilcompton could be a good choice.

That may avoid NR getting the hump but the local Highways Dept certainly won't take kindly to it;)
