No criteria.

30% is on top of the base salary offered, however you will not automatically get this from the start. It'll be at the end of when your training finishes that you'll get the enhancement.

Shift wise will be an early, late, night and 12 hours at the weekend. Subject to change obviously!

Is 12 hour weekends so you work less in the rotation between everyone such as one in 4 weekends?

I would have thought it would be more than one weekend in four working, although I'm not basing that on any facts!

Let me give maths a go
7 Teams 1 SIM 2 IRM 3 TM

If weekend is 12 hours you would only have 2 teams
1 day team 1 night team

So example
Weekend 1 - Team 1 days / Team 2 nights
Weekend 2 - Team 3 days / Team 4 nights
Weekend 3 - Team 5 days / Team 6 nights
Weekend 4 - Team 7 days / Team 1 nights
Weekend 5 - Team 2 days / Team 3 nights

As rough example of weekend 12 hours , so dependant on rotation is either 2 weekends in a row or 3.

Could be well off though let's wait and see ..

Anyone got any idea what the shift pattern is likely to be? I know it's pure guess work at this stage, just slightly concerned weve accepted these roles with no idea when we'll be expected to work, all recruitment are saying is it's to be confirmed!

Hello All, just found this site as I was offered the role of IRM last week. Seems to be a lot of unanswered questions !! Has anyone been given any indication of a base location other than "training is in Romford" ? Also any idea on proposed shift times ? Is it a 39 hr week ?
Is your holiday at your discretion or are you allocated it ? Got loads of questions but no answers !!! Well done to those who've been accepted

Well done , likewise have limited answers.

My email and phone call did say Romford she didn't mention only training in Romford.
I believe TFL had a standard 35 hour working week but may be wrong.

Yes some good questions you've raised, I get the feeling quite a lot of it hasn't been thrashed out as its all new.

Nothing to add apart from if you've got any holiday booked let them know now, I would suggest fairly regular calls to recruitment as I'm going to do, these questions needs to be answered soon

I have just called recruitment, they are waiting to hear from HE regarding whether existing holiday will be honoured and have not had anything regarding shift pattern. It would be helpful to have at least some idea what the pattern will be but alas nothing yet!

Looks like I'll have to bombard recruitment for answers. I'm keen to accept the role but I'm loathe to take it on a wing and a prayer !! Do they answer emails or is it best to call ??

I'd say call, I know what you mean, it's a bit unfair to ask people to accept based on little information

Hi,

Glad to see it's not just me. I spoke to hiring manager and they have stated that the salary is 36K for all. So the salary range in advert was pointless. They also believe romford for training and intention is to out base but details unknown. One said assume it's romford but that's 2 hour trip each way for me. Trying to clarify if the tfl rail line to romford is on oyster scheme too.

There was me thinking I was special being offered the 36k ...
I feel like definitely a lot has not been thrashed out.
At least we are all asking the same sort of questions

I agree, however my email quoted 36k for 6 months whilst training, then an uplift of £10,800 (30%) for unsocial hours upon successful completion of training = £46,800.

No, and until we get some important information such as shift patterns etc I wont hand my notice in at my current job, I think several people could be in the same boat!

I got two replies

First one said can't guarantee holiday already booked
Second said about holiday and shifts , this is being looked into ...

I wonder what the contingency is if they don't get all the staff they want as they seem to be working to some tight timeframes.

No response yet. Did enquire about parking during training too as it's such a distance to travel but no joy

Any updates from anyone ?

Hi guys, first of all congrats to everyone who was succeful and got offered the job :)

I have been offered the traffic manager position too, and, like you, have many questions.

Holiday - I recently received an email with specific dates for the training period, but they also took my request as I had some previously booked holiday and said that it will be considered.

Oyster card - during the first week on the job they will take our details in order to issue an oyster card.

Work location - I was told Romford, but would definitly consider other locations if available

Schedule - they say it is still being worked on

Start date - 18-9-17

Salary - 34k plus 30% allowance after training (44.2k)

Please note that for the training course beginning 4th September the only annual leave guaranteed will be
2017
23-27 October
18-29 December.
2018
19-23 February
3-6 April

If you have any other annual leave booked for 2017 please let me know as soon as possible. It may not be possible to honour any additional leave as we must avoid disruption to the training plan which in turn may affect when staff complete training and are deemed competent.

Even here it says the course start date is 4th of September.
May be there are more than one training dates?

I believe that is the case as the annual leave dates I receive are different too
