E.g are they marked in alphabetical order depending on the applicants name or those who got high marks are told first and those that got lower marks are told later.

Probably more likely which depot you applied to and which one has the greater need for drivers.

Cheers, same to you. I applied for Eastleigh.
I applied for Eastleigh too, so maybe it’s done by depot location? I’ve not seen or heard about anybody else applying for Eastleigh here at the Forum? Good luck to you. I’ve still not heard anything so I’m hoping it’s alphabetical or done by depot location ..although we’ve been through this before re the alphabet and the VSE and SJT wasn’t alphabetical haha. Maybe because it’s all done by humans makes it different. I don’t know. I just want to find out now. Took the stage one on the 24th.

I’m new to this so please correct me if I’m wrong but could they potentially not be getting many people reaching the enhanced standard so they are holding back on giving out results in case they need to lower the pass marks

Possible, giving that the rumour is that they want 100 drivers... Although you'd think that set standards are set, I'm not sure if they would do that? Maybe though...

Did anyone here stay in the Ibis hotel the night before? If so, what time did you have to be out by? My assessments are 9am and for 4 hours so I'm thinking I'm gonna have to check out and put my stuff in the car, and then sit the tests, and then somehow find somewhere to get changed after the tests are over.

Also what did people wear? Is it all suits? Seems silly but in my 23 years of existence I've never had to wear a suit so I don't own one. I wouldn't even know where to buy one, I'll have to go into town when I'm next off work and look!

I stayed in the hotel - think check-out was 10 or 11, certainly before you'd finish the assessments, I left my stuff at reception.

And yes, most people were in suits, but I'm sure you'd get away with shirt, trousers and a tie.

Thank you for the confirmation, I will buy a suit! :)

I’m pretty sure it’s a captive audience so to speak. They’ll have had a lot of applicants so I doubt they need to lower the standard. I guess they could if they wanted to though, but would just revert back to the normal standard pass criteria, as that’s all that’s set by the government.

It would help me out a lot if they were just standard pass criteria haha (that pesky DFFT is worrying me), plus I’d be able to jump straight to the MMI I think :D

I think this is wishful thinking though lol

Is that the interview? If so I had mine at the head office in London. I went in a suit. I had 2 people interviewing me which I'd seen previously at the assessment stage. They a lot of questions on saftey, they asked about what I knew on the company and where I'd like to be in 5 years time. They asked about my previous jobs and what I was like in a classroom environment. They made me feel welcome so I wasn't nervous.
Hope this helps

A chosen one! Congrats and well done, bet you’re chuffed. I guess if I get that far, the MMI worries me more than the DMI as that counts as one of the dreaded lives!

Just keep calm and keep if simple, don't go in to loads of details and remember they are looking for qualities of a train driver.

Hi mate, can I ask what location you had applied for? As I did my assessments the same time as you, and was also successful. I have my medical next week. Cheers

Hi everyone, just back from stage 2 tests and DMI. Very long day. Off to bed soon as up at 0430 for work.

Just to let you know I asked question about courses. For anyone like me for Birmingham and those who have put down Crewe, they are looking at starting a course early November. He said it looks like it will be a residential course in Crewe to start of with before moving on to depots.

Just don't get worked up about tests as it's all very relaxed. DMI was super relaxing and chilled. MMI well you all know from other posts.

It's a round robin and so 3 did computer, 1 did MMI and the other one did DMI. Number 6 didn't turn up. MMI and DMI they said we will find out in a few weeks and Vienna computer tests we found out straight away if pass or fail. We all passed computer, god knows how as I thought I proper messed up.

Basically and weirdly you could do DMI and MMI first, then do computer tests, fail computer tests and so was no point in doing other interviews other than experience. If you do computer tests first and fail you will be sent home straight away without doing other interviews. I know strange setup but that's how it is.

Of to bed now so feel free to ask questions but I won't be able to answer until tomorrow at some point.

Enjoyable but long day.

Nice one mate, sounds like a long day! How do you feel it went? Did they give any indication of how many drivers they need?
So the next time you hear from them it will be a position offer or not?!!

Congrats for getting this far anyway, hopefully i can settle my nerves abit by friday!!
