Ah that makes sense. I had to do the situational judgment test but the other two it said I didn't need to. I will await an update!

I've applied for the Lostock role in Cheshire and got sent the links for the online assessments. When I clicked on the verbal and numerical ones it said that I had already completed the test with a ROC therefore I didn't need to do it again. Strange question but does this mean I don't have to do anything more now? My application still says that I am at application test stage

Theres 3 links. Have you tried all 3? Im surprised that the test results would be shared with another company. GDPR etc

Yeah and it only wanted me to complete the first and not the maths /verbal reasoning! I was very surprised although I did have to tick a GDPR notice so I suppose the theory is providing I give consent they can just transfer my results

Give NR Recruitment a call on Monday morning! If you think you can improve on your last test then go for it.

If you only clicked the link to do the tests within the last couple of days it will take a few days for your previous test results to be applied, you will then receive a further email advising if you reached the required benchmark for that specific job and the status will change to either test completed or unsuccessful. Think this is a manual process not automated so in the hands of a member of HR staff.

Can i just make you all aware if you arent for future applicants. If you dont activate your adobe flash player for the tests, it will say you have completed the tests when you havent (i had the same problem, shows you an error then when you click continue it says test completed, SHL confirmed this) when using chrome and the tests are on the page, click the padlock icon near the address bar and activate your flash from there, i had mine already activated but it wanted extra permission for some reason. Not teaching anyone how to suck eggs just helping out incase it happens to anyone

You submit your applicantion signed by your LOM to capita they pay the required amount into your first pay slip as a deduction I think then you receive your season ticket.

The cost is taken out of you pay each month thereafter.

So if the season ticket was £2000, they pay the £1500 and you cover the remaining 25%

The allowance is £2500ish if your season is £2400 they’ll pay the lot, if it’s £2800 they’ll pay the full allowance and you’ll pay out of your own pocket the difference.

A mate of mine had to take full allowance and some, he was paying back £450 per month !

Oh really, i never knew it worked like that.

I'm only a few stops away so it would be Covered by the allowance.
Your mate must had a hell of a commute.

There’s no discount or anything, it’s literally a interest free loan you pay back each month prior to your tax going out.

For Signallers I think it’s generaltl not worth it to be honest, my mate seldom used it and hasn’t renewed after the first year.

Ah OK, I understood it as being a separate thing. You can get 75% off the price of the season ticket and use the interest free loan to cover it. So if my season ticket was £2000 I'd get it for £500 and could then use the interest free loan to cover the £500.

This is what we all got confused about...

No in short, your ticket is £3000 - you get a loan of £2500, you pay £500 no discount you pay the full price that a normal Joe would pay.

Ah that makes sense and also puts a damper on the whole idea.

Don’t take my word as gospel on this one, like I say it caused a huge amount of confusion with us as well...

I’m sure someone will be able to be 100% on this...

The website says a 75% subsidy which does suggest discount of 75% but I’m pretty such my understanding is correct.

Yeah I definitely look into more, they're both advertised as separate benefits on the site, a subsidy is a grant often issued by a government, network rail being an arm of the government. It would say to me that you are given a 75% grant toward the cost of your season ticket, you can then apply for the loan to cover the remaining cost.
That said, this is all so new to me and what you have said makes total sense too.

Example -
Cost of 12 month season ticket = £2000
NR contribution = £1500 (2000x0.75)
Loan for the balance = £500

You’d pay back the £500 loan to the company as a deduction in your payslip over 10 pay periods and it would be declared to HMRC as a Benefit in Kind to the value of £2000 so your tax code would go up accordingly.

Hey. I had my interview for the Feltham signaller role in December. They said they were looking for 6 positions to be filled. I had the job offer first week of February and school starts 1st April.

So, there was definitely more than one signaller required for Feltham, and it does take a little time for any response.

I got the job for Feltham too.
