Bain's Coaches Of Oldmeldrum, Aberdeenshire still regularly use Caetano Algarve bodied Dennis Javelin 'N590GBW' in public service.

Until earlier this year, I would have suggested the Routemasters on London Buses' route 15. But they have now been reduced to operating on summer weekends and bank holidays only. RM324 dates from 1960.

Arguably though that's not a standard service but rather a heritage route.

That's why I said 'until earlier this year', when they were operating seven days a week, throughout the day, at a regular 15-minute frequency and charging standard TfL fares. I think that counts as a standard service.

Now they only operate on summer weekends and bank holidays, I would agree that they no longer count as a standard service.

Depends what you define as a 'regular' service. Does 'regular' during summer only count?

Cumbria Classic Coaches have a few heritage vehicles that run year round but only one return journey a week.

In Kent, Regent Coaches are still operating an X-reg MPD on local services. It is X511WRG, a former Go North East example.

First South Yorkshire are still operating R reg Wright Renowns, which seem to be completely bombproof.

I used to catch X511 WRG to school, back when it was numbered 511 and worked the 40/41.

Surely, there can't be much on any regular scheduled bus service older than X/Y reg unless it's been modified to meet PSVAR legislation ?

First West of England have a number of W reg B7TLs working hard on front line service with one repainted just a few months ago. Such was the fleet shortage this time last year that 5 further examples were diverted from disposal by First Kernow to be pressed into service.

Yes, but modified.

I had thought these had all disappeared a few years ago, but I have just discovered that 66112 (former Bath 1912) is still operating in South Yorkshire.

And a G reg Volvo Citybus a couple of weeks ago. However Stagecoach are taking over in the near future and, I suspect, this might change the vehicles used!

Until about 2 years ago, Edward Thomas were still operating two D-reg Leyland Tigers on school contracts. One of them still lives on with Paul's of Stoke I believe.

60621 and 66112 are still about, often on the 81/82.

60626 and 66168 I'm less sure on but they were both around up until me moving away for the summer in July.

They're in a better state than the absolutely wrecked 02 reg Eclipses, most of which have been withdrawn recently in favour of ex-Manchester and ex-Leeds vehicles, but 60705 was still chugging around on Friday.

First South Yorkshire is somewhat of a time warp!

Maybe someone can enlighten me as to the operator whose yard/depot is adjacent to the railway line at Mansfield Woodhouse station? I'm fairly certain they have a Mk1 National which is running though how regularly and what on I'm unsure?

Johnson Bros/Redfern Travel's facilities are located adjacent to Mansfield Woodhouse, athough searching Flickr sadly doesn't yield any National pics, recent or otherwise. Perhaps a local who knows the operator better than I can assist with this query...?

Thanks. I've never really been that way, but may have to make a trip! ;)
For the last few years here in the west we have had vintage buses running the 376 on New Years Day, the youngest of which are of similar age!

Yes I believe so.
They do operate 'ancient' buses.

And until just two months ago, ALX300-bodied Volvo B10BLE R258 KRG was in daily service on their 85B route.

In London, I saw a 51 plate Dart operating in Bexleyheath on Saturday. Is this the oldest bus operating in London (except for the previously mentioned Routemasters)?
