Congratulations everyone who passed! I’m lucky enough to have too! Does anyone know what the computer tests will consist of? Thanks!

Congratulations, I had convinced myself I had failed so also relieved to find out I had passed. Was in the same group as you :D

Out of curiosity, would the MMI be on the day of the computer tests, or after?

Congratulations!! :)
Congratulations! We must’ve been a pretty good group haha!! From what I’ve read throughout this thread, sometimes the mmi is done on the same day, and others have said they had theirs separate! So I’d say prepare just incase

Congratulations! It’s usually a reaction test, perception test, keeping a ball on a track test (can’t remember the name of it off the top of my head) and the situational judgement test

Yeeh so after your computer assessments you’ll have a 45 minute break while they check the results etc and then if you pass you’ll have your MMI.

you probably wrote down your mmi answered after your paper assessments? Just prepare them answers in the STAR format.
If you want to use a different answer you can just let them know you would like to use a different answer

Well done guys. I had my mini directly after the computer tests. If u don't pass the computer tests they send u home (well that's what they did with us) without doing the mmi

Just had an email, I have the computer assessment and mmi next week!
I'll be with you. Turn around has been crazy. Alot of prep needed over the next week!

I know I’m really shocked too! Snap, I downloaded some software earlier before I even had the email hoping I’d have a bit longer to practise haha!

First time posting after diligently watching the forum for over a year!

I had my paper tests in Chester this afternoon, they said we should hear back within a week and then computer tests/mmi would be in Cardiff (if I pass today’s tests obviously!).

good luck to everyone and thanks for everyone’s advice on here-it’s a great source of info xx

Hi Jeff,

I've got my assessment day for Chester tomorrow. So you weren't interviewed at all today?

Can you give some insight into what you did do? Group bourdon, cables & dials, phone directory with bleeps, etc.

Hi, the info they emailed said it would be paper, computer and mmi but actually it was just paper tests.

yep all the tests you’ve mentioned and I’ve got to say I was so anxious but actually once you’re there it’s really fine, the assessor was patient and explained to people to needed clarification and it wasn’t scary at all.

There were no curve balls and nothing you haven’t read about already within the thread, it’s really not a bad couple of hours at all. Good luck! X

I can echo what Jef1938 is saying having been at Chester this morning.
It’s as relaxed as they can make it lol with plenty of breaks and explanations if needed

It’s goes by in a bit of a blur
Now the wait for results next week

Morning.
Does anyone know...with the perception test you are shown an image, for how long? I am practising on 1 second. Also are the potential answers always the same i.e. ‘car, lorry, motorcycle, traffic light, traffic sign’ or could they be ‘what colour was the second car on the right’ ‘what was the speed limit’ etc!? Any help would be much appreciated. X

Morning, if I recall correctly, you are always looking for the same items. They aren't trying to trip you up with specific information like speed limits or colours etc. I stand to be corrected, its been four years since I did mine.

And my advice is, if you think you saw an item, then you probably did, don't start second guessing yourself with 'did I, didn't I'. The brain picks up so much information quickly, if you think you saw it then tick it.

Do you mind me asking what software please? I'm still awaiting invite to first assessment. Had an email over week ago saying date shortly so waiting very patiently.

Great thread here btw. Hello all!

Brill thanks. I've registered with how2become already for research, forgot about the software they do. Fingers crossed, have read there's a wait for some between tfw requesting NI number and assessment date. Glad to be past application sift and all very exciting. Good luck in your process and thanks for the reply

Recently passed my DMI for Cardiff! Woo!

I’ve been given an option of mainline or valley line, what’s the differences and possibly the best option?
Thanks

Great news
Don’t know much about it but from what I’ve seen up thread Mainline might be the way to go
Check out the Driver routes post at the top of the Jobs and Careers section might help you to decide

Tell them you are open to either valleys or mainline.

That way you will get priority for a course over one particular route. Unless your closer to Taff's well only then I would consider valleys
