Got the email yesterday. Passed the MMI and have now completed the full process successfully, thankfully.

Just waiting on course dates now so hopefully not ages like some people.

Good luck any others waiting on an answer.
What sort of questions did you get?

I’ve got mine tomorrow I hope I’m prepared

Thank you to each & everyone of you for all your hints & tips on this journey…

I’ve only gone & PASSED my MMI!!

Now I’m swimming amongst the rest of you in that big old talent pool! ☺️

My choice of depot, other peoples wait times I’ve seen for costal depots and what the manager said during my DMI.
Yeah I am coastal as well, and even though I’m high up in the list now apparently, it all depends on when they will next need my depot which I just missed out on a huge in take. I’m self employed and been dwindling my business so I’m hoping it’s sooner rather than later..

I hope it happens for you soon.

As I understand it coastal depots generally take longer to get start dates for. I joined the pool in October 2021, so I’m anticipating a fairly long wait.

You’re Brighton aren’t you? Yes my husband waited a few years in the pool when he joined at Brighton.. I passed my MMI in July.. it’s definitely getting nearer - and I will be like @Quin79 and be nervous when it actually does happen I’m sure haha

You'll do amazing though I'm certain

Was the place offered in Jan? just trying to gauge the amount of notice they give.
No they offered on 2nd Feb, had my medical the following week. All very quick and professional. The medical alone is a fantastic and thorough M.O.T.

Yes I am. I know there are quite a few waiting for a Brighton course. One of my former colleagues has been waiting for Brighton for over 18 months and there hasn't been a course in that time. So fingers crossed they may run a course for Brighton in the next 12 months or so.

I'm glad to be on the list, but it would be nice to get a course eventually. If it meant getting a course sooner, I would relocate.

I'll be nervous too, even though I already work for a TOC and know what's coming, its a massive learning curve.

That's quite interesting. They sent out the monthly update on 10th Jan saying March course places were filled but then they contact you on 2nd Feb with a course place.

Being impartial, I think they said course spaces were allocated pending medicals.

They may have pencilled in peoples names before contacting them etc.

Not saying this is what happened, just trying to consider both sides.

Could be that someone failed their medical and I was next on the list...

Wow, 18 months, I’ve been in the Brighton pool for 6 months, looks like there’s still some way to go. I was told GTR plan to take on 100 new drivers in 2022, so hopefully it’ll get moving. There do seem to be courses running regularly now and new people entering pools often, which has to be a positive sign.
