A lot more than I thought there would be
28 of them. It's a strange upgrade as, in the last 25 years, Weston hasn't been blessed with that many new vehicles.
  • The X1 received a small but regular intake - think along the lines of 1998 4 Olyms, 2005 3 B7TLs, 2008 4 B9TLs, before 2013's 6 e400s
  • The Portishead routes surprisingly received 8 Streetlites in 2014 - it was probably 20 years since it had new vehicles before that
If they also appear on the Weston local 7, I think the last new vehicles that route had were the first Dart SLFs in 1995/6.

They are 35666-35693 I believe.

Anyone know which engine they have

Streetdecks normally have a 155Kw (211 hp) Mercedes OM934 (which is feeble at climbing hills with full load) or the 6 cylinder OM936 which goes upto 260Kw

I don’t think Wrightbus use the OM470 or OM471 which are the other two Mercedes bus engines. Attaching a link with the descriptions and power and torque graphs for the engines

That would replace all Badgerline B7s, and all of the Excel fleet.
All the Badgerline B7s have already gone.

The Excel fleet (e400) was 9x 56 plates (8 in Essex, 1 melted into the A370), 12x 08/58 plates, 2x 12 plates and 6x 63 plates = 27.

Quite what the impact is now given the various service amendments but using the "ever-reliable" :s Bus Times then there are 35 deckers based at Weston currently.

Weston currently have 20 E400s and 13 closed top Volvo B9s plus 2 older Streetdecks which I assume will stay. 27 new Streetdecks due so if they keep the older 2 that will make it 29. I would imagine the aim is to have Weston as an all Streetlite/Streetdeck depot (apart from the 2 B9 open tops and the two Airport E200MMCs)

Most of if not all of the B9s are to return to LH.

I believe the plan at one point was for all 6 ex-Sheffield streedecks to head to Weston. Not sure if that’s still the plan though

Are you sure the B9s 37319-28 are coming back to Bristol as I heard by a Bath driver that they are going to Bath? Wait what's going to happen with The X1,X4,X6/7/9 Marlborough Street Workings?

Some will have to go back to Lawrence Hill to replace 33965-33973, possibly some to Bath, not sure what Bath need them for though?

33965-71 are allegedly going to First Hants and Dorset, are 33972/73 definitely leaving as well?

This is something I raised, brand new buses with a new brand yet the LH workings will still be B9s! I wondered if the schedules could be tweaked so that a number of Weston vehicles ended up at LH overnight to allow those to be used the following day on the boards that LH operate but that can be full of issues!

33972/3 are off to Cymru.

Oh what that is some exciting news @stait.john. Can't 33825-30 go to Lawrence Hill to replace some?

I think 37348/37348 (or two of the 6 anyway) will stay to replace 32093/4, not sure about the rest.

I understand all Weston E400s are heading to Potteries.

Plus Scania 36807, which is Weston’s ‘Pride’ bus?

We may want to, but don't forget 39005 the Wright Hybrid; also 37355 has been at Weston poorly for a while but may be on loan. That's 38 deckers for a requirement of 31, so there will be a shortfall suggesting maybe the rest of Bath's Streetwrecks will end up here. Then there will be extra double decks for the summer uplift of service 20, which is single deck in the winter.

Is 37355 still at Weston? It hasn't tracked on bustimes since ages ago.

VOR - was at Volvo at Wanstrow
I assume 37355 was a loan to Weston and will return to Hengrove? It may even go back to Lawrence Hill as 37356 has once it’s fixed.

If Weston like 39005, they could have the other 4 that are currently VOR at York!

39005 is a pup (as are the others). Think the others are in store in Halifax - doubtless never to run again and just run down the depreciation

37355 is in service now on the service 7 replacing 39005 at 15:30 at Weston bus hub. Also does anybody know when the badgerline streetdecks will enter service?
Do we know whether the Streetdecks will enter service all together in one big launch, or if they will be introduced over a period of weeks as and when they arrive and are prepared?

I can't imagine that they will wait for all to arrive - you'd need space for 27 additional vehicles. I'd suggest that they may have a launch session but otherwise, an incremental deployment
