I hate to say it, as I'm directly affected by this unreliability every working day, but this hideous period of unreliability will hopefully strengthen the case for the West Fleet replacement even more.

A hangover from the last timetables 165 diagrams, but it looks like the last Bristol/Reading 2-car set swap at Worcester took place this morning (09/02)

I spoke too soon. One day after this swap, 165128 has ended up in Bristol due to the Yarnton bridge failure.

Appears to be going back to Reading, taking 116 with it this morning.

I see that there is also 5G07 from Reading to Swindon which looks to be allocated 165102 as it is allocated to the follow on 2G07 to Cheltenham even though it was on a Gatwick diagram at the start of today.

which is being swapped with 165111 off 2B08/5R08

Good news for the Thames Valley. 165102 has to be the ill-est, most unhealthy close-to-breakdown Turbo in the entire fleet.

Only 166221 at Exeter today having a knock on effect on the Devon Metro having only one four car 150 operating on the school run and it's half term! Everything else is two car and the London Paignton London is a five car 802007. Barnstaple unaffected.

If it's the half term then surely by definition there's no school run to worry about!

It does seem that the reliability of the Devon Metro is heading towards some kind of crisis point as today's offering is just about the bare minimum to provide a full service. If the situation with the turbo reliability doesn't pick up soon we'll start getting into cancellation territory. When I alighted last night from the 158 on the Barstaple-Exmouth trip I had to pull apart the doors as they got stuck, which I mentioned to the guard as I passed but clearly shows we can't necessarily rely on other units to pick up the work of unavailable turbos.

By some miracle I managed to have a four coach train and a five coach train between Severn Tunnel Junction and Temple Meads yesterday. The four coach train was a 158 however and most of the others looked like 3 cars. Is it worth complaining to customer services or do such complaints just get filed in the bin?

Complaining about what? Did you not get a seat for a long distance?

Two were rectified in the day, one of the 2 car 150's was replaced with a 3 car 158, the 150 then was attached to another Exmouth service. The Paignton line was rammed today being half term.

2318 Paddington Oxford Turbo instead of IET tonight, following IET displacement with Cotswold line closure.

Does anyone know which of the Monday-Friday Exmouth-Paignton diagrams are currently booked to have Turbos?

No such thing as Exmouth - Paignton diagrams. I presume you want to know which of those services are on the 16X traction diagrams?

Substitute the word services for diagrams if that makes it clearer. I just wish to know which services are meant to have Turbos.

The better Devon city
From what I've seen, there are 4 double 150s out, one single 150, one 158 and one 3 car 165 out today. There seems to be a lack of turbos today around Devon. Prove me wrong if needed

Firstly many, many thanks to JN114 for the information provided. In a nutshell it means that 4 of the 7 diagrams on the Exmouth Paignton lines should be Turbos of one flavour or another. That just isn't happening at the moment. The last time Mondays to Fridays we had 4 was 11th January. This week 3 days just one, 2 days just 2. Anyway Turbo reliability is for a more appropriate thread.

It’s been covered elsewhere, Turbos have a particular issue waiting for spare parts due to issues with the supply chain. Similar for some cl150 engine parts.

The spares parts pool for the 158s has been eased slightly as one of the GWR ones was stripped for spares.

Tomorrow (Saturday 18th) appears 2V54 is operating 05:39 Portsmouth-Worcester, a 4 hours 41 minute journey

Seems a long journey for a DMU service

New record today. 166219 working Barnstaple, 166206/05/21 and 165205 working Paignton. Unusually only 158 working Barnstaple.
