I have seen Class 180110 this recently and it has got its 5th coach back in the train and I have been told that 180113 is a write off because it hit a cow in the East Midlands area so that would write off see picture below

I believe 110 has been back as a 5 car for quite some time.

(EDIT - A bit of forum digging confirms it was reformed during March).

180113 fared a lot better than the cow. I think it's just a case that with them being withdrawn by EMR tomorrow there's no real point in repairing it yet, I didn't think the damage was too bad that it woudn't be repaired if someone else wanted it.

It needs replacement lower fairings and new coupler.
Conditions of the lease say that would be returned in as supplied condition. Whether they do remains to be seen.

Yes that is how I understand it. Even if going into store or being withdrawn the current operator has to return the unit in a fully working state.

Always with the caveat of “unless otherwise agreed by the vehicle owner”.

though presumably if the ROSCO had already decided to scrap the unit after the end of the lease, it would be cheaper for the TOC to agree an exception with the ROSCO?

Possibly but in my experience it's had to be repaired regardless. Would make sense but contractual issues have to be adhered to.

Or agree not to repair it and instead pay a fee to the ROSCO. Win both sides then as TOC pays less than fixing it and ROSCO gets more cash.

How did the Class 180113 had an accident? Is it badly damaged or is it a bit damaged after it hit a cow? If it has a bit damaged, it could be repaired though.

Will certainly need a new lower fairing, but that's not unusual, probably a new coupler from the last I heard.

To be honest, I don’t think it’ll matter much if it the fleet end up at GC, given the state of theirs!

Gone are the days when the GC fleet used to be turned out quite smartly, but that’s what happens when by Arriva turns up.

How is the last day of the EMR Ada’s going?

Today not very well, certainly not up to lunchtime - which, having set out just after 6am, is when I finally managed to get on a pair.

0612 NOT-STP (pair), and 0835 and 0905 STP-NOT (single sets after split) all cancelled - assume staffing issues.

Gen received that the pair would be coming ECS from Etches Park to NOT then would split and form 1050 and 1112 NOT-STP (taking up booked diagrams).

Announcement at NOT station, at 1048 I'll add, that both the 1050 and 1112 to STP were cancelled (no reason given). Passengers were told the next London train was 1150, I established there was no point taking a local service to East Mids Parkway as the 1145 to London from there (ex Sheffield) was also cancelled (no driver apparently).

I (with others) took the world's fastest and scariest taxi to East Mids Parkway, having received gen the 1112 ex NOT would be starting from there at 1125 with 180109.

Arriving at 1119, we discovered what we believed to be 180109 wasn't due until 1149 - hence the taxi experience in hindsight wasn't necessary as we would have "made" off the Lincoln - Leicester stopper, which duly came and went.

We were told by platform staff to use the front 5 coaches only, and that the train was coming empty from Derby. At about 1154 in roll 180109 + 180110 heaving with people, and off we went south, leaving numbers behind at Leicester.

Otherwise, all good!

I was at Notts in good time all ready to work the 11.12. Got a phone call saying there was no Driver to bring the sets over from Derby, and would I be kind enough to get the 11.07 XC to Derby to start the service there.
Apart from that it all went swimmingly!
