North London or Mildmay line
Path in for Friday for 321s from Clacton;

5Q35 1255 Clacton C.S.D. to Walton Old Jn.M.S.C.Sdgs

Wonder how they will get that over the Primrose Hill line straight after 4M87 as the signalling is allegedly 2tph only!

For what it's worth I passed several lines of withdrawn 321s at Walton Old Jn sidings (Warrington) yesterday.
Maybe 20 units in all. Visible from the WCML after crossing the Ship Canal northbound.

Yes it's shared between Warrington at the ship canal, or Wembley on WCML, opposite the carriage depot. Have been since around March 2023 and Wembley earlier at earlier on in December 2022.

Many thanks. Is that info I could get online without having to waste your time please?
I’m not sure to be honest as working for the railway I’m lucky enough to have access to the official sources!

It’s 37884 hauling 321424 and 321436.
37884 temporarily pinched at Stoke Gifford to rescue a failed 66 (wonderful audio experience as it restarted a heavy train up Filton bank) so the units got a few hours’ stay of execution in the rain!

Of the remaining non renatus units, my records have 337, 423 and 440 at Worksop, 439 and 443 at Gascoigne Wood and the rest at Wolverton. Is this correct?

I've got 439 sent by road to Sims. 423 430 440 337 Worksop 443 at Gas Wood. Hope someone can put us straight.

www.ukraillog.co.uk does (although I am a bit behind with formations on some of the newer stock at the moment) :)
Oh thanks. I'm behind the curve.

5Q76 runs Monday 21 59 ex Worksop

Another one to try! Thanks.

Just checked, 439 went by road to Booths 28-30 March. 402 is still at Millerhill partly derailed when last reported, 434 is/was at Yarmouth. 337 407/19/28/29/30/36 at ZN. Or so I think..

Does anyone have the ability/time to kindly detail which 321s are scrapped, which are off lease with no future and which are set aside for projects here and there?

Well, here's a go at the 321/3. Please treat it as an Aunt Sally and please post corrections. 321/3 not listed have been scrapped. All are off lease, not sure of the position with 334. I believe the Renatus units are under the wires and kept warm for possible future use. Whether any conversions to parcels/freight carrying of the units at Wolverton will happen is unknown.
Renatus units; at Wembley apart from: 302 307 308 311 312 319 320 326 at Warrington, 305 306 314 321 Ilford
Others 331 332 333 335 336 338 339 340 341 342 343 at Wolverton Works 337 Worksop 334 converted for parcels 365 last shown at Doncaster Works for spares can't find any recent data.
Now updated with comments from today 16/7.
Over to the experts!

As has been said elsewhere, 440 (at Worksop) was the chosen set (based on condition) to be preserved at Harwich however the project sadly was curtailed due to circumstances with the land completely beyond our control. The storage contract at Worksop for the 321s has now lapsed so expect to see the remaining units that are on site carted to Simms imminently.

Sad the 321 at Harwich did not work out. Seems to find a good use for mk3 based DMU or EMUs is limited.

The leasing system where good refurbished units are withdrawn before the end of useful life is daft.
I can't find any updates from Eversholt about the Renatus units, the plan for hydrogen conversion stopped in favour of new hydrogen powered Alstom Aventuras (but no new trains have been ordered), the plan to work with Vivarail for battery power has also stopped as Vivarail went into admin.
The last update was a year ago!
Possible Eversholt may see how GWR get on with the Ealing trial before making a decision on 321 battery conversions to replace old DMUs,
Eversholt Rail and Vivarail are committed to supporting the UK Government’s ambition to decarbonise its rail sector by 2050, and the Scottish Government’s objective of doing so by 2035. This proven and reliable fleet is an excellent fit in terms of characteristics, fleet size and availability for conversion to a Battery Electric Multiple Unit (BEMU).
the Scottish deadline is still 12 years away!

Many thanks for the update; sorry to hear that the project was abandoned. I'd missed that.
