Question for people who have done the assessments, did you wear a suit and tie ? Thanks
When I went for my assessments I dressed smart so won't worry too much. For interview it's best to wear a suit as you will be giving an impression to the managers who will be the ones who will be in charge of you if you get the job so give the best impression.

Hey, I’m new to the forum but I’ve gone for trainee depot driver at Southend Vic, had my interview on 18th and got an e-mail last week saying I was successful but being held in a talent pool for the next available vacancies
Congrats. Hopefully it's not a long wait. Main thing is your on the list to be given the job. I would have assumed all the vacancies they put up for trainee mainline and depot were a soon start.

I thought I'd share I got my contract for trainee mainline :E. Medical passed and all good thankfully.

I wore a shirt, tie, and a very thin jumper over this. Some candidates came in tracksuits, some in casual. They didn’t make it far in the assessments but I don’t think that was due to their clothing. Smart casual is the way forward as suit and tie might not be the most comfortable, and you’ll be there all day doing different tests.

Thanks I really appreciate this info. It’s going to be hot this week so I wanted to avoid tie if possible, I will dress smart on the day regardless and see how it goes.

Thank you :)
I think it’s because in my application I put my holiday dates…we’re away majority of September so couldn’t be part of the September starters.
I’m looking forward to when I do receive a start date though, as is my dad seeing as he is a retired district line driver so is happy 1 of his daughters is following in his footsteps LOL!

Hi all,

Is anyone currently on the Cambridge depot Arriva Application process which opened and accepted CV's in April?

I passed my RAAT late May and am waiting for my application to be sifted and if successful moved onto DMI so still early stages.

Cheers.

Ah okay. At least you have that position that you will hear back on. Similar to me, dad is a LU instructor on the piccadily line trains. Inspired me to apply for these trainee mainline jobs and his stories he tells me when he goes work.

Appreciate it Steve. Yeah the others answered that question. Good to have 2 good references just in case.

How long did you have to wait to hear your results of your DMI?

Yeah same as JWS and Kour. Mine was about 3 days after interview then medical the week after. Probably want the medical done soon after just to rule out no drugs and alcohol which can stay in your system for a while.

Assuming no one else heard about the Liverpool Street jobs yet? Just wondered as it’s been 4 1/2 ish months (I know it’s a holding pool though)

There main push is Stortford and Cambridge who are both understaffed Liverpool Street currently have enough drivers so progress is slower for LST

Completely forgot I applied for this one. Ended up like the previous campaign but I've been offered a seat elsewhere. Can't find where to withdraw as my application isn't showing on the website anymore.

Hello, wondered if anyone is in my position …. I successfully passed stage 1 OPC back in August and was told to wait for invite for stage 2
I was told they are very busy and things are taking longer than usual but im still waiting and wonder if there is anyone else in the same boat?
This was for the Cambridge mainline role. Many thanks

Hi all, I had a stage one assessment day around one month ago for the bishops stortford roll but have not heard anything back yet wether I’ve been successful or not, reading the above thread sounds like if it’s been that long then I did not pass.

Contact who sent you for the assessments. I believe it's a Mr Jordan. If not, your next way of finding out would be when you apply for a other TOC again and they do checks on your previous result.

Unsurprisingly recieved an email today from GA by a Jo, seems they've replaced the previous recruiter, Jordan.

Anyway the email reads:
This email is to inform you that from the 1st November 2024 your application for the Trainee Mainline/Trainee Depot Driver vacancy will no longer be valid.

New vacancies will be published on our careers site https://careers.greateranglia.co.uk/vacancies.

If you are still interested, please apply for the new vacancies advertised on the 1st November 2024.
From 1st of November consider existing apps basically void unless advanced past the assessment center stage with them.

Good luck to all those applying in the next campaign for a Seat. I've got mine elsewhere, thankfully so won't be in for this next round.
