Thank you for this, interesting to see all the 9s that left SE are now off lease, whereas 3x 2s are still on lease (241, 243 and 247).
Does anybody know where 466016 is please? Not sure if it has been scrapped but doesn't appear in Worksop or Ely lists.

Considering recent trends in rolling stock introduction industry wide, how long would it be before the first 'new train' is introduced into service? Would it be another 701 situation which could see the 465s into the 2030's?

It wouldn't be a surprise to see some reach the 2030s and 40 years since first built.

There's more than 100 units even after all Class 707s came over and the latest cascade completes (only 13 377s are moving to SE) and still the process of a tender award, construction, testing, driving training et al.

Something not often seen, "Cousins in passing":

The lights on the 165 look as if they are giving the 465 a rueful sideways glance.

Couldn’t make it today. Is there expected to be one next week as I have some of the day off?
The last two runs from Ely have been to Newport via Cambridge rather than via Peterborough and the Midlands. It's worth keeping a regular eye on Ely on Realtimetrains and Tuesdays and/or Thursdays seem most likely. The 5Q76 entry is scheduled only the day before and can be easily missed. The Class 37 seems to have arrived the day before with an 08.58 start from Ely for today's and last Thursday's run.
Good Luck!

It maybe an illusion, but what caught my eye looking back was how the 165 cab looks bigger than the 465 cab, which would make sense given the Turbos were built to take advantage of the wider loading gauge on most of the GWR network.

That could be down to the suspension changes the Turbos went through when they moved west, which lifted the whole body a little higher.

Are the 165s actually wider than the 465s, or is the key thing that they kept the same width as the 465s even though they are 23m rather than 20m units, as usually 23m units have to be narrower?

Both classes are 2.81 metres wide.

Will any Networker units be going to store anytime soon to make room for the 377s coming over imminently? I suspect some room was made by scrapping those 466s that went directly from Gillingham, so if any do have to go they won't need to send the equivalent carriage count.

Good day all,

I was wondering if it is possible to have a full list on the current status on each 465/9 and 466.

Thank you in advance.

Those 3 are stored at Worksop so I doubt they are still on lease
At the start of the year Southeastern's response to a FOI request stated 3 465/2s were still on lease in storage at Worksop. It's plausible the ones there still are, as Southeastern leased stored stock is all at Worksop and ones off lease usually moved to Ely once under ROSCO control.

Yes all the SE Networkers that went to store went to Worksop first, then to Ely when off lease. Those 3 still being on lease could be one or both of the following: a) They're needed for part's stripping in future; b) They're an insurance policy in the event that any of the in-service Networkers break down beyond repair but they can't afford to lose any units yet (although the problem with this is units like 465911 were very broken, but got repaired and returned to service, while 005 and 178 have been at Grosvenor siding for several months with no use or replacement).
