Thats a 1st I didn't now my local council wanted them for the maesteg line, learned something new.

I did send an email to the WG suggesting they perhaps take on some of these class 150's, I did get an letter back saying they didnt really require them at the present time.

>>I think it was mentioned somewhere on here - one of the forums at least!...failing that, i may have c*cked up my info on that bit of the post, but just as usuable as an example...

any wanting to photo 150s there is normally 4-5 units on most days ,waiting around is the key to finding them ,(can be a few hours ) . i saw 4 sets yesterday . dorridge runs being the best bet .
the usual 150-153 mix is still working on the dorridge run .

150122 was at worcester wednesday with a FGW weymouth train .

and 150019 is still running around with its new part paint scheme !

sounds recorded on 150001 stourbridge to brum ride

Just come back from holiday in Sidmouth and went on the Exmouth line. Had the luck of 150202! I even saw 150102 and I reckon that FGW have done some little adjustments as the squealy brakes have stopped at long last. I saw a lot of 143s about so just wondering when all the 142s go back (shame really) will Exmouth runs be 143s and the rest 150+153. I must say though, it will be good when FGW get round to repaint and refurb like 126 on the other units!

Must be getting ready for use with Northern Then!

Have to admit, that must cause some confusion on the Great Malvern to Worcester section - green liveried ex Central 150s appearing ad heading southbound!

As the Exmouths trains all run through to Barnstaple and Paignton there will be a mix. There will be 143s and there will also be 150s, probably a few 153s as well.

So from the above, FGW are using the 150's on both the Exeter diagrams and Bristol diagrams?

There aren't separate Exeter and Bristol 150 diagrams, the whole fleet interworks and rotates around the area, so you could see a specific 150 anywhere that FGW operates them.

Anyone know why there is a NXEA Class 153 sitting down in Tyseley Depot. Saw it yesterday! Also, 172341 is my new 172 friend. Great unit and also so is 172217! 172s are excellent as the 150s certainly!

I think it's a legacy thing from when National Express had one unified "Maintrain" infrastructure in place for all their operations.

Similarly, EMT 158s undertake exams etc. at Crown Point overnight (rather than just being stabled).

The regular 150 services I travel on into Birmingham for work have now gone over to 172 operation now. The 07.08 Leamington Spa - Kidderminster and 07.56 Dorridge - Stourbridge were pairs of 172s this morning which will most likely mean the 18.02 Dorridge - Kidderminster later today will be as well now, all 150s a week ago.

150015/019 stabled at Tyseley and 150018 out with a 153 on the 06.45 Worcester - Dorridge etc. So at least one 150 out today.

I was at Stourbridge when the 16:25 service to Dorridge pulled in, and it was a 153 with 150 015, so that must have been the other one with a class 153 on the end as well as 150 018. I hope this helps!

I was just wondering, and I have probably missed it on this thread or on the farewell 150 thread, but has anyone got any ideas as to which 2-car 150/1 will be coupled up to 150001 for the Farewell 150 tour? I know it may be a bit early to say exactly, but was just a bit curious. I'm not one of those people who will be like "Oh no, 107 is gonna be on it?!?! <( " etc., just curious! :D

(I'm not saying 150107 is bad by the way, just in case anyone has a personal liking for the unit, was just an example!!!)

Caught earlier train this morning and was rewarded with 150109+105 on the 07.09 Dorridge - Stourbridge Jn.
150018 departed Moor Street as I arrived on 07.30 to Stratford and 150001 will be no doubt pleased to hear that 150001 is on the 06.45 Worcester - Dorridge etc with 153364.

Doubt it will be a blue one for the farewell tour. 132 moved to Newton Heath yesterday. 103 waiting to be taken to it's new owners tonite. That leaves 001,012,015,018,019,105,107,109,124& 125 with LM as far as i'am aware. More due to go by end of next week.

Northern have 9 ex-LM 150s at present and are due 18.

LM are due to retain 3 units and 150001 isn't allocated.

FGW apparently have their full allocation.

So there are 12 x 2 car 150s left (after reforming) which means 9 of them are for Northern and 3 to stay at LM.
