    Freight train driver (qualified)

To put some of the above to rest here is my feelings on the matter. I recently moved from a TOC to a FOC. It's undoubtedly the best decision I've ever made. The shifts are varied and so is the work. I could work a liner up the wcml at 75mph then on the return I'm crawling along on a heavy...

Rainbow Hill Junction and Worcester Triangle resignalling

Worcester had most of its signalling equipment replaced. I'm sure the life extension works took place in 2018. I'm unsure the need to double the triangle and to make it so you can gain access to any of the platforms from any direction. After spending many years working at Shrub Hill I'm unsure...

Bordesley Station (Birmingham) - How to revive its fortunes?

It's also worth pointing out that Bordesley has a ridiculous amount of buses stopping at its stop which is directly at the bottom of the station entrance. You have the 17, 60, X1 and X2. If that's isn't enough on the B4100 stop which is no more than a minute walk from the station you have the 2...

Bordesley Station (Birmingham) - How to revive its fortunes?

The plan to close the station is part of a big investment in Moor Street. Bordesley is set to close to give way for the new chords onto the Camp Hill line. The current Chiltern sidings would also close with the sidings being used as a line to joing Camp Hill towards Kings Norton.

Bordesley Station (Birmingham) - How to revive its fortunes?

Nope it's something I've just plucked out of thin air.

Bordesley Station (Birmingham) - How to revive its fortunes?

It's earmarked for closure. So I can't see it ever getting a decent service

    DAT card

I had no idea about this, I'll certainly be giving it a try on Monday. As a freight driver I'm forever waiting to be let through the gates at various locations

    Hope Valley Capacity Scheme updates

When you drive through Totley tunnel with a heavy stone train and the 66 is getting hammered in notch 8 you can taste the fumes! The same can also be said about Dove Holes tunnel.

Trainee Train Driver (and now qualified/'part-qualified') - Newcastle - East Coast Trains

Would this not be for trainee drivers who have passed out on rules but haven't completed mentoring hours thus not having ETDL..

    Driving cab door left open

Deary me. Is this what we've come to? It's no big deal this.. plenty of NR staff about the place. The doors can be locked shut using a T key which can be easily brought online. Train crew often sit in the train on the Herefords so maybe the guard/ driver's was in the train having some snap? The...

Colas Rail UK- Apprentice Train Driver

Absolutely shocked by this. You two are the only two I've ever know to get anywhere with Colas

Qualified Train Driver - London Marylebone, Stourbridge and Brum.

I'm surprised Stourbridge has vacancies, there's been a waiting list at Stourbridge for years. They sign Kidderminster to Marylebone. 68, 166, 168

Westbury would be your best bet

GBRf Agrees Deal for Five New Class 66 Locos

What you are forgetting is many of GBRF class 66s are less than 10 years old. The 66s are extremely reliable and are ideal for this country. Also these locos are needed today. By the time new locos are designed, produced, tested, driver's trained and introduced into service you are talking...
