Used railcard multiple times without having it

For now, make a note of the journeys you've used the discount of, and keep that information safe. The train operating company has up to six months to contact you, so sit tight, try and put this to one side, and deal with it when the letter arrives.

Used railcard multiple times without having it

Wait for the letter. Once it arrives, post it here, redacting any personal information (name, address, reference numbers, etc). We can then advise on the best course of action to take. In the meantime, I would suggest having a read through the Disputes and Prosecutions section of the forum...

"Oops! My Rail Pass Mishap: Using a Ticket without a Valid Rail Pass" Ticket then photographed.

The OP was hoping that not having a Trainline account might help protect them - i.e., keep them anonymous and impossible to find. It does not, and their IP address can be one way they could be tracked. While a train company wouldn't go to the effort for a single instance of fare evasion, the...

You didn't do yourself any favours there. Yes, if they have the e-ticket they can track it down to your account, and thus to you. You may not have a Trainline account, but your IP address will have been logged along with payment method, and that can easily be used to identify you.

    Urgent help needed

To me, the first half reads a little "over the top". It's fine to be apologetic, but the whole ""I can say I will always act truthfully when cooperating with officers who enforce the law" bit feels overdone. But it's up to you, if that's how you really feel then by all means leave it in. On...

    Figuring out TfL Bus Timetables

Fantastic, thanks very much! Some really good information and resources there that should help me figure it out. Appreciate your replies. :)

    Figuring out TfL Bus Timetables

I don't find myself in this corner of the forum too often, but I'm trying to figure something out and I'm feeling particularly thick. Hoping you guys can help. I've been looking at late night bus timetables for a number of routes and I can't figure out why the information I'm getting doesn't...

    Car Transporter trains on WCML

IIRC, there are regular trains from the JLR factories to Southampton Docks.

Used someone else’s 16+ Zip Card

Usually I'd suggest cutting out all the part about not sleeping, unemployment, etc as frankly, they won't care. But I think in your case, given your age and stage in life, it can't hurt to give them a bit more context. Even if makes no difference, you will at least have tried. I agree with...

Being Prosecuted by Govia ThamesLink Railway

"Hello, Thank you for your email/letter/etc. I am currently unable to deal with this as I am out of the country until <date>. I assure you I will give this my utmost attention on my return and would ask that you please bear with me in the meantime. Many thanks, etc" edit: beaten to it by...

A few months of fare evasion on GTR

Ok, so if you run a shop, I'll come in, take an item worth £10.00 and I'll leave £2 on the counter for you. That's ok, because I'm still paying something, right? Good. Arguments about however much rail bosses took home are *utterly* irrelevant. Honestly you sound mad that you got caught out...

    Govia Thameslink offence

I have never liked wording along the lines of "I am willing to pay x and x". Because frankly, they have you by the short and curlies here. It's not up to you to tell them what you're willing to pay, so I would suggest something more along the lines of "I would be grateful for the opportunity to...

    Avios credit card

I went the American Express route instead. That way I can throw my points at whichever airline's loyalty scheme is flavour of the month. You can also often transfer between loyalty schemes, so if you're really lucky, you'll get a favourable Amex to airline points exchange rate, then a favourable...

Swanage Railway - trains to Wareham 2024

I'm just thinking out loud here so don't take this seriously. I do wonder if once DMUs used elsewhere in the country start to come up for replacement (150, 153, 156, maybe even a 158 or 159) if one could find its way into the hands of the Swanage Railway. Running a longer service to Bournemouth...
