1tph throughout the day along the Hope Valley Line once more paths available through Dore using newly refurbished pacers.
Direct Service from North West Derbyshire to Derby missing Sheffield.
Buxton to Hope Valley/Sheffield summer service.
Just seen this post for the first time. This used to happen to me at Piccadilly. You were more than happy to pay the fare. Just not to queue excessively for a second time. One time I queued for 15 minutes at the ticket office.. I found the staff at the top of platform 13 and 14 had a card...
I'm currently travelling standard class on a Pendo. I don't normally travel on these trains - usualIy I am on East Coast. I have found the carriage has excessive vibration at the higher speeds with windows rattling and the ceiling vibrating with my body feeling every imperfection in the railway...
Some posts above give some reasonable suggestions. I would start by writing the same numbers on used rail tickets to see if the ink does indeed always run and take scans of these tests.
What do people think of the number 3 on ticket 1? That thin line beginning with the blob curves down into the bottom of the number 3 where it looks like it continues running to the left, then down, then to the left again where it ends beyond the 3.
I have a few questions and comments. Forgive me if these have been addressed already.
Do you still have the other used and unused carnet tickets?
Was the same pen used for each?
So it looks to me like a crappy felt tip pin was used which takes a while to dry and so some of the ink will...
If you do sort this out then I agree, as earlier suggested, you get back on this forum to find help for cheaper ways to get into work. Sometimes it only involves a minor inconvenience (or none at all).
A Carnforth - London would be great but not if it is calling at many stations en route. I'm also fed up of travelling in to Lancaster to travel North so opening up those main line platforms would be key.
I agree. Leave East Coast as it is - especially if it is making a surplus. I prefer travelling in a HST rather than a Pendo anyway. Pendos still make me travel sick.
I think London services are good as they are. What Cambridge needs is better links to the North. Either one of the Norwich - Liverpool/Manchester peak services starting from Cambridge or a 30 minutes past the hour to Peterborough or Grantham. Now Cambridge have those extra platforms such options...
From Chinley I always compare Chinley - St Pancras with Chinley - Kings Cross via Doncaster on journey planner. Depending on time of day there can be a difference in travel times and prices. East Coast advance tickets often make use of the evening Chinley - Sheffield express trains but the...
But am I right in thinking that it only needs to rain hard for one day and then movement would continue?
On another note - now TPE have plenty of time to spare on the west side of the Mount, can they think about reinstating their Chinley stops that were axed 18 months ago? For example the...
Maybe DOO should only be permitted on more modern trains where the doors have door sensors.
This is one of a number of reasons where guards are invaluable. On Northern trains I see guards frequently help parents with small children get off the train. For me, if I know I am going to miss a...
Stockport is great if you are being dropped off. It is less than 5 minutes to the rear entrance if you know where you are going and you are not intermingled with taxis (which use the front area). I do wish it had an extra fast ticket machine though.
