FCC Notice of intention to prosecute

I sent off my sheet that came with the notice of intention to prosecute within a couple of hours of reading the letter. I phoned the prosecutions dept. a number of times on Monday, got no answer. Tried again yesterday, again no answer, so I left a message explaining the situation and stating...

FCC Notice of intention to prosecute

Because I was clearly given the option and chose to pay a penalty fare. If it was always their intention to prosecute then fair enough, but tell me that and don't give me an option if one clearly doesn't exist. EltonRoad, I fessed up to the inspector that I knew it was first class.

FCC Notice of intention to prosecute

I've said it a few times, but I'll say it again, I took the first seat I saw, which happened to be in first. I didn't sit by the door to make a quick getaway but rather because it was the first seat I came to. If it happened to be a standard seat, I would have sat there anyway. I didn't sit...

FCC Notice of intention to prosecute

Few points. Firstly, I don't know, or care about the classes of trains. The first class section was in the middle of the coach I happend to get on. The seat I sat in was right next to the door I entered through. And I usually stand because I take trains between Cambridge and Peterborough...

FCC Notice of intention to prosecute

Jon, why do you assume that alcohol was involved? I didn't have anything to drink that day at all.

FCC Notice of intention to prosecute

I'm not sure if it has really, EltonRoad. Most people seem to either ignore what I've been saying or just don't read my posts properly.

FCC Notice of intention to prosecute

Has anyone got a number I can ring to try and arrange payment of the penalty fare (that I haven't actually got) then?

FCC Notice of intention to prosecute

I signed the paper form the inspector was filling out. The police officer also took down my details on his little electronic thingy.

FCC Notice of intention to prosecute

Not a thing. I was a bit surprised to be honest, but having never been in that situation before I guessed that was just how they did things.

FCC Notice of intention to prosecute

EltonRoad, that's spot on. I was given nothing on the train and I only received the notice of intention to prosecute in the post the other day. That's it.

FCC Notice of intention to prosecute

I have not received any papers. How do I pay them when I don't know who to pay or how to pay. I've said it before.

FCC Notice of intention to prosecute

Yes, the police officer did caution me. Who should I call to try and pay a penalty fare to? The prosecutions dept. or another number?

FCC Notice of intention to prosecute

Cheers yorkie, and thanks to everyone else who replied. I posted this thread expecting to be roasted and to be honest I deserve a kick up the arse too. But I didn't want people telling me that what I did was wrong. Or stupid. I know it was.

FCC Notice of intention to prosecute

I've already sent the letter but I've put pretty much everything I've said here in it. Settling out of court is exactly what I want. The one thing I don't want is a criminal record. I'm broke but I can always borrow money of my parents if I have to, so money is not an issue within reason.
