New South Western franchise: Awarded to First/MTR

Now that both franchises are run by the same parent company. Could we see intermingling of service in the GWR and SWR rail networks. Or is that impossible with franchise commitment? Is it even allowed? Sorry not turned in with the specifics of franchise deals.

London All Zones with addition of Watford?

I have an kind of dilemma which I'm not sure what the best option is for my situation. We are arriving at Paddington, and we need to get to Watford junction which I see it ant in a numbered zone but part of London. The single is £12.80, but we has discussions about maybe going into central...

    Borders Railway - Now Open

Are there many towns or areas along the current borders route that could possibly see new stations built at? I know heriot, fountainhall and tynehead used to have stations along the route. Are they too small of a catchment to warrant reinstatement? I know Stow only just made it after pressure...

    Suggestions for Dawlish avoiding route(s)

Yes! Great news about okehampton, it's the best for the entire region to be better connected. The journeys between Plymouth, Exeter, Tavistock and Okehmpton will all be highly traveled. I'm from plymouth and I don't understand the MPs moaning, plymouth was never going to benefit massively from...

    Suggestions for Dawlish avoiding route(s)

I think for £700m that okehampton route is far from unviable. The benefits that the route would bring would eclipse that figure within years. Brings mid devon, tavistock, okehampton back onto the rail network. A 15 minute extra for a diverted plymouth to Exeter is a hell of a lot better then the...

The meeting with the sec of state has resulted in a "promise" which could lead to nothing at all. https://twitter.com/krossiter/status/431142077645062145

    Suggestions for Dawlish avoiding route(s)

Why can't the government actually see the need to build a dawlish avoiding line now! This is becoming a regular occurrence. We are now cut off here in Plymouth, Devon and Cornwall.

Why do some services not stop at Stow? Any reasoning for this?

Network Rail's New Station Fund - likely bidders?

    Ebbw Vale Extension Thread

Good news. I was unaware of the announcement until now. Is nice to see funding going to projects like this one. The extension will go along way for the people of ebbw vale. The success of this line is phenomenal and long may it continue. :)
