MTR Crossrail - Now recruiting for Trainee & Qualified Drivers

About to start my 4th week, there's a lot of information to take in, but it's all about how you apply yourself. Finished 'pts' now doing front end turns.

MTR Crossrail - Now recruiting for Trainee & Qualified Drivers

It's fantastic mate, a great company to work for, I feel very lucky to be part of it. 15000 people applied for the train driver job, 100 have been taken on.

Hello mate welcome to the boards, I'm starting the 5th September , I also recieved the contract, I've signed both parts, I doubt (hope) it will happen much but I guess it's good if you want overtime. What dates did you do your assessment days?

MTR Crossrail - Now recruiting for Trainee & Qualified Drivers

That's good mate, although it's a bit nerve wrecking, if you are generally healthy and not hiding anything, you should have no problems. No worries guys, so many helped me on this forum, it's only right to 'play it forward'! Two references are needed, , I've filled out uniform requests and...

MTR Crossrail - Now recruiting for Trainee & Qualified Drivers

Thanks, Ilford depot. Medical was just as nerve wrecking as the test, even though I'm fit and healthy, I think it's probably to do with it being the last stage. You enter, you fill out a few pages about your medical history. You then get taken by a nurse and you urinate in a pot. You then go...

Yes one has now moved and the other thought he had got away with it but received a letter saying he had to be moved by a certain date.

    Relocation

I'm not sure how true this is, I know of two people who live more than 40 minutes away from the MTR depot they applied for and have got the job.

    Maximum travel time

Yes they did, I said I would be travelling by motorcycle and it might be nearer 45/50 minutes but they seems happy with that, nothing more was said. I'm just curious as I know someone who didn't live within the time(over an hour away), nothing was said and he just got a letter out of the blue...

    Maximum travel time

Thanks for your reply. I'm the other side of the river so it would be m2, m25, a13 then 406. I know they have the road improvement works at the moment but should be all finished by the time I need to be travelling to ilford. I guess MTR will have the final say.

    Maximum travel time

I'm due to have a medical with Crossrail at the end of June with a possible start date in September. They have a '40 minute' rule. I live 37 miles away from the ilford depot, but 90% of that is motorway, so I can travel at 70mph. For arguments sake, let's say I live 40 miles away and average...

    Medical

I thought under 120/ 80 was considered healthy. Why did you need under 100??
