You got a fair amount of weekly engineering possessions which mean the train gets diverted via the mains. Only late starts and early finishes meaning that there are generally a small amount of trains that get regularly diverted. I work in the planning dept and the amount of times I've had to...
I haven't done the SWT guards interview, however I did similar interviews with and they are mainly competency based. 'What if?' Questions for example.
Best of luck, my train home is a woking guard ;)
SWT don't let you know unless you've failed. I've had 2 meds with them and never had a word back. As the saying goes, no news is good news.
Best of luck!
Not too sure where the 18-19k has been plucked from. There has been no announced figure that has been put out there yet? I haven't heard/read anything and I work for SWT.
Most of the diagrams are 450. There are a few booked 444's, 0823 ex Waterloo being one. Although because of a recent unit shortage they've been using 5 car 444's on Alton's (and Basingstoke stoppers) very frequently in the last few weeks.
SWT do enforce a 'Buy before you board' policy, which revenue do seem to enforce pretty heavily. Don't run the risk is my best advice because the guard may not always have a machine. Play it safe
I was notified in 14 days. 2 of my friends have also been waiting the same length of time as you and have heard nothing, hopefully you get the news soon! What is the position?
You should get a letter fairly soon, mine took roughly a week to arrive after the assessment. There was a week between my letter arriving and the date of my interview, so plenty time to prepare.
Firstly congratulations...
I was notified via letter with a location, date and time. They also include free travel on that letter so you can travel to your interview location.
Best of luck!
There are actually free resources available, which use the NR open data and extract it. Unfortunately the program I use is password restricted, even though it's a non-staff only site. Following Edwin_M's post, I have found the WTT codes online. :)
I have only just caught up on the original post but a lot of the infrastructure problems have been caused due to the twice a year Salt train flow that runs out of Southampton. One of the wagons was found to have a hole in the bottom, thus leaking large amounts of salt onto the track. Salt is...
A Bit late I know! But here are just a small few pictures I took of the railtour, from the 3AM start right up to the 8PM Finish from South to North. I hope these are of interest! Click on the pictures to Enlarge!
