    Northern cancellations creeping up again?

They are the timetabled times for trains from Manchester down the Romiley Marple section of the Hope valley Line. Sorry if I used the wrong term but I am just self loading freight and not prillaged to know the fine details. My apologies again for being a mere service user..

    Northern cancellations creeping up again?

It has been explained to me that I am just ignorant self loading freight (to steal an airline industry term) but let's look at todays carnage this evening out of Manchester down the Hope Valley line. Cancelled so far are the 16:50, 16:54, 18:18, 18:21, 19:51, 21:21, 21:48. Regardless of the...

    Northern cancellations creeping up again?

I probably am. But I still need to get to work on time as I quite like the income it brings in to pay the mortgage. Maybe you need to wobble your head whilst thinking about how all actions or even inactions have consequences.

    Northern cancellations creeping up again?

To be direct, you should think about the customer experience and how you are driving people away. Next week I will be going in by car because I can't trust the service provided by the railways any more.

    Northern cancellations creeping up again?

When you are a customer/passenger all you know is the train you are relying on hasn't arrived. I do love the railways. I'm just not sure the railway industry loves its passengers.

    Northern cancellations creeping up again?

Well that just confirms the rail industry is not interested in passengers (read as paying customers) and has zero regard for them. To follow up yesterdays 3 consecutive cancellations at Romiley from 8:30am yesterday there are now three cancellations on the bounce from 8:12. The 8:12 is the...

    Northern cancellations creeping up again?

It feels like there are more cancellations than running services on the Hope Valley line today. Which is something of an exaggeration but still, Romiley had 3 Manchester trains on the bounce cancelled this morning.

New Mills Central landslip - 6 week closure

But on the plus side, Romiley is getting its old timetable back. Including Sheffield trains which I honestly thought would continue through Stockport. Mostly because I have lost all trust with Northern recently.

Controversial railway opinions (without a firm foundation in logic..)

The TOCs and their staff come across with the view that their job is to move trains and it is not their job to move people. If people happen to be on board that is their choice. This is why some rail staff don't have the best customer service skills. They don't see customer service as their job.

Could we see regular, scheduled services between Manchester and Sheffield calling at Hazel Grove?

Isn't the biggest issue capacity at Stockport now that HS2 has been cancelled so all London trains have to continue through there?

Could we see regular, scheduled services between Manchester and Sheffield calling at Hazel Grove?

None as far as I am concerned. I live in Romiley and need to go to Sheffield twice a week and it is right pain at the moment.

    Northern Passengers Taking “Direct Action.”

I will double au contraire you. Further up this thread there is a run of comments about how people who don't know confuse trainers. It's the run which starts with a comment on two pacers running together when at least one would be a sprinter. Pacer has become a collective noun for all the old...

    Northern Passengers Taking “Direct Action.”

The overall point is that the wider travelling public have had enough of Northern and no amount of inward railway gazing will fix it. Northern won't respond to complaints so peaceful process is all that remains.

    Northern Passengers Taking “Direct Action.”

I think most posters here are missing the point. Northern customers are not interested in if the service is being run by a class 142 or a 150. Most customers don't care about paths or diagrams or allocations. They just want the train to be on time so they can reliably get to and from work. Most...
