You get head phones to put on. The beeps you hear I believe go from ear to ear. As you click the button on hearing the beep it changes ear and test your hearing in the other. I remember the woman saying that once you click the button the beep will then get lower and lower (if you hear it right)...

You will do a week of nights during your training.

Guys the answer has already been put in the thread. I am at NXG and nights have their own link. You will not do nights unless you want to be on that link or do rest days. And saying that it's Friday and Saturday night. The rest of the week will be lates.

The main thing*

Don't be put off. By all means do your research but in my opinion if you know no different it should If your not a train driver get in where you can. Keep your licence clean and move if the work is to much. Three main thing is getting in and getting through the course.
