First South West (Kernow & Buses of Somerset)

The majority of those Volvos lined up are now withdrawn, presumably being stripped for usable parts to keep the rest running.

First West of England (Bristol, Bath & The West)

I have heard rumours that operating divisions have been instructed not to repaint buses unless absolutely necessary, like after collisions, pending the introduction of a new group wide standard livery like that being adopted on the Electrics. This would align with the general lack of interest at...

Trivia: Are there bus companies that still have tree lopping buses

I wouldn’t read too far into photos that are available on Flickr, not everyone posts photos there and these vehicles are naturally harder to spot. 1946 was sighted today in Poole today so is very much still active.

    Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire Bus News

Something which I don’t think has been mentioned here is this year’s itinerary for the Peak Sightseer, which is due to return on the 11th May aligning with the nominated days for changes. It will operate daily through to October. Registration data on bustimes.org details there will be two...

Does anyone know why there has been little use of open tops on the Atlantic Coaster thus far? A few of them were used on the first days of operation but since it’s been closed top E400MMCs according to bustimes. Was hoping to sample the route with the open tops in a few weeks time although it’s...

    National express West Midlands

There are 8 of these numbered Z4001-4008, the rest remain unallocated at present although have seen use on Glastonbury shuttle work last year. The Z denotes Zenobe who own these vehicles and the rest of the Electrics with National Express - they’re operated through an ‘Electric Transport as a...

Most "interesting" bus company for workings

Midland Classic was a prime example of this a few years back, today under Diamond operation the fleet isn’t quite as varied with some of the oddballs withdrawn, but there is still a lot of inter working between routes. All of which can be viewed on bustimes of course. Vehicle types include...

    D&G Buses

530-532 have the 6-cylinder Cummins engine, more commonly found in E400s. There are some others within D&G and Centrebus which I’m sure someone else can fill in. The buses on Rail Replacement are operating between Birmingham and Stourbridge but were tracking upon leaving the depot in most cases.

    24 registration buses and coaches

It would be worth clarifying these are for East Midlands Airport so are dual-door with luggage racks.

    Hulley's of Baslow

Surprisingly unmentioned here is another ‘innovative’ new route from Hulleys this year. Route X10 will run on weekends from Saturday 30th March between Sheffield and Alton Towers via Chesterfield, Matlock and Ashbourne. The one return journey gives 6h30 at Alton Towers, timetable can be viewed...

    National express West Midlands

As a wild guess, it could be off to P&O Lloyd on the North Wales coast who have previously purchased a few other examples from Birmingham Busworks.

First South West (Kernow & Buses of Somerset)

Forthcoming service registrations can now be viewed on Bustimes, most effective from 31st March with the exception of a new T2A effective from 26th May running St Ives to Hayle (can’t help but feel that’s an unnecessary renumber of the previous Sunseeker). Link below has them all listed, I’ll...

    Go South Coast

If bustimes.org is to be believed, the Excelsior liveried Enviro 400 MMC numbered 11 has been in use at More on Bournemouth routes today. Anyone able to confirm or deny?

3 of Bluestar’s highest specification E400MMCs 1683-1685 have recently been swapped for 1632-1634 from More. Of these 1633 is blue whilst the other pair retain Unibus liveries. The Morebus E200s are now taking their turns through the paintshop with 2 of the 8 done so far. The Salisbury Reds...
