Having just searched up the current state of Altnabreac stations facilities , I've just found an online youtube video of a recent station visit in September this year. Here's the link Altnabreac station visit. You can see in this video there is already a solar powered passenger info display and...
According to this months Modern Railways magazine plans to install a Request to Stop kiosk at Altnabreac are stalled due to a lack of a power supply .... it then adds "solar and wind options are being explored"
I wonder if the prospect of a potential mini wind turbine is also another reason why...
The non-strike TOCs (beyond TfW, Scotrail and the OAOs) I can think of are - MTR (Elizabeth line) .... Arriva Rail London (London overground) and Merseyrail.
I think I'm correct in saying Kenilworth station has 2 lifts even though it's a single platform station (the lift's are there to enable step-free access/exit to the East side of the station)
Looking at the block through Hindley this weekend, am I correct in thinking that the hourly Southport to Manchester Oxford Rd service that will go through Wigan Wallgate but then pick up the WCML down to Golborne Junc is an unusual move that rarely (if ever ) gets a passenger service over it...

Following up on my own post about how long Huddersfield to Ravensthorpe (Project W3) will take, then looking through the TWAO docs that were submitted I found the following .. so it looks like from looking at the below that from Main construction works starting to then ultimately get to Entry...
Just adding to the conversation in relation to the MR article about TRU progress and dates.
Interestingly later in the article it says EMU local services will run from Manchester Victoria to Stalybridge in 'late 2024' ... so I can only suppose it's unlikely we'll see 323s in operation by May...
Orginal piece from The Scotsman in 2019 said ....
"Luddon Construction will soon begin construction of the new freight facility, the first in Scotland for more than 10 years. Construction is expected to take 12-14 months with the facility being operational in early 2021. Highland Spring Group...
On the Uckfield line, Crowborough was for the best part of 90 years plus named as 'Crowborough & Jarvis Brook'. It changed to just 'Crowborough' in 1980.
It certainly was used 5 years ago (11/7/2017) as part of the naming ceremony for GBRF loco 66775 being named HMS Argyll .. search online and you'll see a picture of it 'at platform'.
This thread reminds me of the RAIL magazine article about the Day in the Life of the longest Pendolino diagram ...
