I received a notice procedure from GTR this week, stating I have an upcoming Magistrate's Court appearance and 14 days to plead guilty or not guilty.
For the record, I am guilty and would have to plead as such.
It says my offence was "contrary to Byelaw 21(2) of the Railway Byelaws...
It was Southern Rail I was on at the tiime.
And yes, trying for a settlement seems to be the best way to hopefully put a moronic and embarrassing episode to bed.

I wondered if anyone could clarify the following for me, regarding exactly when a charge is laid with a court?
I evaded a (small, under £5) fare earlier on in the year. I was stopped and cautioned by an RPI, this was mid-March. It was an utterly idiotic and one-off mistake on my part...
