Ive travelled many times from Leeds to Carlisle and Morecambe on 142s and 144s.
During the 90s it was quite common to see 156 and 14x combo, particularly on Saturdays.
Back then the Settle to Carlisle was mostly jointed track which made for a lively ride on a Pacer!
Metro have ignored my requests also for bus stop information in Bradford and First replied telling me to head over to the Metro site for more information!
I really am coming to the conclusion that those in charge at Metro and Bradford council have never used a bus or haven't used a bus for many...
I've just been onto the Metro website to download a map of the city centre bus stops from the 14th of April when major changes to bus stops take place.
The map appears to only give information about the departure point bus stops like Nelson Street but doesn't show where the buses will stop...
I recently did a 14 day all line rover so I travelled on quite a few different types of train.
On the 21st of February I boarded 385115 at Haymarket on a late running service to Glasgow Queen Street. I was sat in first class and could not believe the ride quality.
This particular unit was...
There were a few cancellations from Glasgow on the afternoon of Saturday the 9th March. The 1730 departure from Glasgow to London was packed and the train was declassified. I got off at Lancaster where there must have been a couple of hundred Wrexham fans boarding an already packed...
They were next to the ticket barriers, plus they were occupying the concourse area of the station. They were not outside the station premises and the gate staff looked as though they were turning a blind eye or trying to avoid a confrontation.
I agree with the right to protest but what I don't...
Please remove if I break any forum rules.
I've just arrived at Bradford Interchange from Leeds to be confronted by Palestinian protesters at the ticket gates.
While I respect the right to protest I also respect the right for passengers who are leaving the Interchange not to be harassed by loud...
The guy is playing a piano.......so what! I wish we had more people like him. I've watched a few of his videos and apart from one or two incidents he generally brings a smile to people's faces who may be having a bad day.
I think Mr Kavanagh handled the whole thing with extreme restraint because...
I've seen a few of Dougs videos and most are very thought provoking.
I have watched the video at Kings Cross and couldn't believe what I was seeing when they had to move the train so he could get on.
I'm not a wheelchair user but I always try to put myself in the position of relying on a...
The really annoying thing is cancellations or alterations during a journey with Northern. Bingley to Whitehaven is a route I use regularly. I can board the Carlisle train at Bingley and the Northern app will say there are no problems on the Cumbrian Coast line. 2 hours and 20 minutes later and...
I'm not really educated on how the bus industry works, deerfold. Would it be similar to how they run buses in London, where bus companies bid to run certain routes with strict criteria like service frequency, first/last services of the day and types of buses used?
Out of curiosity, just what powers do the WYCA have because they really don't seem fit for purpose when it comes to bus travel. What enhancements would there really be?
It's great when the mayor is taking credit for the 60 and a few other enhancements but I never see her bringing bus companies to...
