No wonder this new covid variant is spreading when train companies are doing this. I would bring this up with a newspaper. During times of social distancing to do this is not acceptable.
On Northern the 195s still have 1/3 of each carriage block out at the ends near the cabs. Apparently so the guard can carry out their duties safely which makes zero sense as they don’t use this area at all. This has meant on 2 carriage northern services 2/3 of a carriage has been blocked off. It...
As regards TOCs saying ticket sales are down, in the last week the trains I’ve traveled on on northern have all been about as full as always, but I’ve not seen 1 guard. Usually you don’t see them all the time on northern but on 5 journeys and 10 trains in that not seeing any is odd. Maybe this...
maybe not at the moment with the current news being all taken up by a certain virus, but when things get a bit quieter and nothing’s happening TOCs wasting fuel such as this could be picked up by a newspaper or two and turned into a story. Doesn’t seem a wise thing to do if it isn’t necessary.
I got on at crescent too. I think there were a few people on the service just for the ride in a 142, could tell as when the train pulled in at Salford and victoria a few walked towards the 142. How things have changed, a few months ago everyone would’ve walked towards the rear 150 to avoid the 142!
Hopefully it’s the same today as I can jump on the 15:04 from Victoria to Todmorden on my way home. Does anyone know for sure if it’s running? Fingers crossed here!
Does anyone know the 142 diagrams for today? Hoping one is still on Wigan to Blackburn as this afternoon could very well be my last chance to get on one.
That’s terrible. With the current health advice letting a unit leave with that in it is a completely unacceptable. Did you forward this to Northern? Tweeting them usually gets the quickest response.
Is there enough capacity at Victoria for another terminating service from the west taking up at platform? Seems a bit of an iffy plan. Yes it will relive some congestion through castlefield but it will just move it to Victoria.
I much prefer a 158. The 195s are simply embarrassing for a brand new mu. The only way you could say they are ok is if you’re deaf and like being thrown about every time the train goes over a bit of track that is perfectly smooth.
I’ve received a couple of northern complementary travel passes through delay repay and I am wondering if anyone knows what I do with it? Do I have to swap It at a ticket office for an actual ticket? Or is this pass the ticket and I just fill it in and off I go? If this is the ticket how do I get...
Also it’s probably already been discussed but what does muffled voices and very loud tings coming over the speakers mean? These new trains are giving me a migraine! Only been on for 15 minutes, wouldn’t want to be on one for very long at this rate.
Are they in the vestibule? They are lots of bottles and plastic food packaging on tables which is down to the lack of or difficulty to find bins. Also the speakers are loud, they need to turn the volume down, the point of the info screens is for the hard of hearing so why shout! Would give you a...
