Does anyone know if you get the higher grade pay, if you haven't been released after 12 weeks, if moving from a signaller role to control? Or is that just for a higher grade signaller role?

Is there another signaller who could cover you? Maybe one that signs your box/ workstation but has moved on to somewhere else? Or maybe a MOM?

7.5 hrs each way to York for me for IST. Ultimately its if you think it's worth it or not for your future career. I decided to do it as I was looking at the bigger picture and realised its a short term sacrifice for a long term gain. But that's just me.

That doesn't surprise me, the company is still playing catchup from the courses that were cancelled during Covid. If your LOM is switched on you may get lucky and manage to jump on a course earlier if someone has to cancel for some reason. And congratulations.

No, it hasn't been running for a while now, supposedly train crew staffing issues. We've been given a few dates for it to start back up but it hasn't happened yet. It's just a case of wait and see unfortunately.

It happens quite a lot, so can imagine there's a few on here who have experience of this. My take is that there's a good chance that you'll piss off your initial LOM who has taken the chance on you and given you this opportunity. The railway is a small world and you may come across them later...

The Park Junction resignalling is supposedly the only project that is going ahead, all other have been put on hold, although it's likely that it'll definitely be later than the June 2023 planned date. May be wrong though as you know what the rumours are like on the railway.

Yeah, unfortunately lots of cancellations due to train crew shortages.

Unfortunately it's definitely been the wrong time to implement the service. On Monday the 1st 15 trains had a total of 20 passengers on, hopefully numbers will pick up after Christmas.
