    Competition 630 (Steam) :: Voting

    Yay, I got a vote! I feel semi-human. ;)

    Competition 630 :: Steam

    It will be interesting to see how many entries this brings! Hoping to see some photos of some very beautiful locomotives. :)

    Competition 626 :: DMUs

    Ahh...I detect some controversy! I won't post a HST photo then, but for your entertainment I'll share one here: Our XPTs are very nearly a direct copy of your HST125s (or whatever they are/were). For what it's worth (not much!) I would have counted these as a DMU... I'll post something...

    Spotters dicing with death

    Sorry, only watched it without sound! :oops:

    Competition 626 :: DMUs

    Ok, I suspect I'm coming in at the tail end of an "in" joke, but do HST's count as diesel multiple units? --- old post above --- --- new post below --- And I assume DMU is small passenger trains, not diesel electric locomotives in multiple unit. Hmmm.

    Spotters dicing with death

    I think there is a great difference between dribbly spotters and daredevils...it's pretty hard to want to lump them all together! Check this one out, it looks like fun! :lol: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F8sAUZP__nI

    Spotters dicing with death

    I'm pulling your leg, I parked the engines there before hopping out and taking a photo or two. :wink: Yes, the bloke on the crossing was standing in the goose position, trying to help reinforce the laws of natural selection. I bet he developed a nasty stain in those undies! It's a pity...

    Spotters dicing with death

    I love a good safety debate! I wasn't too close to the track here...can't have been! :wink:

    Competition 625 :: In the fog

    Ta for clarifying that, I'm sure I'll recycle a few of my pics from time to time.

    Competition 625 :: In the fog

    Stuartmoss, don't fuss so! Bung it in if there is something interesting in the photograph. They're not all meant ot be works of art, sometimes it is the content rather than the quality that makes a photograph interesting. :)

    Competition 625 :: In the fog

    Ta for the answers, but it was probably worth finding a new pic anyway. :)

    Competition 625 :: In the fog

    I don't think the pics are meant to be used twice, it'd be nice to get confirmation (or contratiction!) on that. I scream through the fog all the time, so another foggy shot wasn't too hard to find. Thundering through the fog on hilly track is always fun, until you start hitting yellow...

    Competition 623 (Funny signs) :: Voting

    Must admit I liked the rodent poster best of what's there, good for a laugh and a vote. Couldn't find a funny sign to put in, except for one that I've already posted, so I'll sit this one out. --- old post above --- --- new post below --- Four was funny too, chickens are funny birds. :wink:

    Train driver stories

    I once read a book by Gerard Feinnes (I think that's how you spell it) called "I tried to run a railway", or something like that, written from the management perspective. He was a manager on the Eastern Region in BR days, late steam/early diesel. Well worth a read. If you ever find...

    Competition 620 (Lucky 7) :: Voting

    I just enjoy just putting a picture in, I'm not much of a photographer. I'm happy even if I get only one vote...it means somebody liked my photo! :wink: Both of us are submitting foreign train photos too, anything that isn't local content is probably harder to relate to the subject compared...
