Queenstown Road - Battersea Park.
Actually 3 - 5 mins by foot and Approx 20 mins by train allowing for waiting time at Clapham Junction
As an aside National Rail Enquiries does not give a fare for this journey but does suggest that it takes 10 mins on foot. I wonder if some of these...
Did you have any opportunity to buy a ticket? Were there working facilities at the station you boarded the train? did you position yourself at the opposite end of the train from the guard in the hope that you would leave before he got to you (ie you would pay but only if challenged)? And were...
lol this is very true, if it weren't for the "Self loading freight" there would be far fewer delays.
Back on topic, I always remember the sound of the first train through the station after the sandite train had been through. Horrible crunching sound akin to crushing sea salt in a pestle and...
I would re-open the DNS from Didcot to Newbury and then on to Basingstoke (SWT have the route from BSK to SOU taken care of already). I would work it as a heritage line but also ensure the infrastucture was robust enough that it could be used for freight diversions during the night especially...
Wow, Is it just my past life as a revenue officer or can anyone else see that this is as inviting a revenue free for all. Scrotes coming into Slough will all jump on the Windsor train and get off at Chalvey. Then walk back into town just as they do at Reading West when going to Reading. Gateline...

Reading West has improved a little since the police cleared a lot of the crack houses and brothels from that part of Reading (Oxford Road), However it's still not a nice place to be at night. Its main use during the day is "Fare Evader Central" as its only an extra 5 minute walk into...
When I was an RPA at that end of the Reading line we would not block Chertsey, Addlestone or Camberley of an evening without a BTP Presence. It was considered too much of a safety risk. All 3 Stations have a local element that feels it has a god given right to travel for free. I am sure you know...
Sounds like the approach to Feltham on the up line. The track passes alongside an estate and I have been working many trains in the past along that stretch and had windows pop in the carriage I was working as the little darlings living there pelt the trains with stones.
From a staff...
I would not advise anyone from outside the area to use this route, the (walk) from Ash Vale to North Camp is only about half a mile and is signposted BUT the local scrotes have a nasty habit of moving the signs and making them point in the wrong direction. if you are not familiar with the area...
Ascot was a godsend during race meetings in the days of slamdoors as the packed trains full of punters could exit on both sides (on up trains at least). Even now I believe that the guards open the doors on both sides during royal week to clear the trains as quickly as possible.
