Does anyone know if there is an easy way to track down the copyright/licensing owner of defunct railway brands? For example if I wanted to discuss obtaining the right to make and sell merchandise with GNER or EWS branding upon them for example.

I once had Gordon Brown + his security detail on my train. I only found out once the train had departed the platform when a plain clothes copper tapped on my cab door to inform me. (Edit Note, I'm a guard not a driver)

A bit of progress news: The first York based Conductors training on 68/Mark 5's begins next week.

There's a long history of TPE declaring themselves to be an Intercity Operator - until major pay/t&c negotiations come around then suddenly they are only a Regional Operator. Any Guard or Driver who has been in the job at TPE for a while will be aware of this see-sawing of policy.

I believe there were plans for a press/media launch of Nova trains in Liverpool. No idea if it is still happening. Invite only I heard.

Only a few weeks left to go before the new timetable starts and Middlesbrough's are extended to Redcar Central. Of course route learning Middlesbrough to Redcar still hasn't started yet for York based conductors who work 95% of these trains... so...

I believe the plan (last time I asked) is to rotate the spare DT into other sets on a regular basis.

Just heard a rumour from a despatcher that TPE will attempt having FOUR 802 sets in service on Friday. Until it happens I won't be holding my breath though.
