Was the InterCity Express Programme (IEP) a success or not?

Never really understood the hard seats comments. As someone with a bad back, they're good and provide more than adequate support. Done 2 hour journeys on LNER and TPE - no issue. Decent trains.

Inside Transpennine Express (Channel 5 Documentary)

Very true. Have you seen the Best Western doc on C4? I've spent plenty of nights in Best Western's and never experienced what's on camera. Production companies go for the interesting and entertaining.

Inside Transpennine Express (Channel 5 Documentary)

Don't think TV series like this are spun - often made into some sort of story line and over dramatised. Most of the mundane stuff will not make the cut.

Transpennine Route Upgrade and Electrification updates

I really don't want them to keep that roof, it's awful and makes the station look nowhere near as good as it can be. Perfect opportunity to give Huddersfield a proper roof.

    TPE 'Abysmal' Performance

Don't see the supermarket workers complaining? Or the delivery drivers? And they're on a fraction of what guards/drivers get. Moderator note: this is now heading off topic. Furthermore, the current situation is unprecedented and a new timetable will be in place from Monday, so if performance...

TPE stripping back services tomorrow. I got the train today to Leeds and only 4 others in my carriage.

TPE in dispute with customers over refunds

Why have a pop at TPE? The ticket restrictions are clear and other TOCs like cross country are doing exactly the same thing.

    TPE 'Abysmal' Performance

Then the MD gets pushed... which has already happened.

    TPE 'Abysmal' Performance

This isn’t gambling, this is business. When I enter into a contract with a supplier, I expect that product to be delivered on time. If not there will be financial penalties for the supplier, which I suspect CAF will be burdening currently. Deflect on the TOCs all you want, for me when they enter...

Newspaper article Yorkshire post northern rail new stock mention. Tuesday 3 March

TPE are set to take on Nottingham - Liverpool. They’re currently keeping 36 of the 51 185s already , so logically it would make sense for them to keep the 185s in order to run that service. Otherwise they’d have to run 158s until new rolling stock was sourced.

Transpennine Route Upgrade and Electrification updates

Church Fenton works in autumn cancelled, which apparently was partly to do with TRU... hope it’s not a bad sign.

    TPE 'Abysmal' Performance

It’s blatantly obvious that CAF not delivering a good enough product on time has left TPE (and Northern) in a pickle.
