    Most Bizarre Railway Neologism

The Oxford, Worcester and Wolverhampton were known as 'the Old Worse and Worse', partly because their line was so delayed in its opening. WAGN was also nicknamed We Are Going Nowhere!

    Most Unreliable Multiple Unit

Isn't the traction package in the class 442s salvaged from the 4REP 'Bournemouth tractor' units? They've performed well over the years, considering those motors must be over 50 years old by now, if a little slow at acceleration.

In your opinion, what are the ugliest units/locos/liveries on the network? Interior or exterior.

Ugliest trains- 458s, 175s (ridiculous looking squashed nose), 317/7s, angry-eyed 315s, class 70s, class 20s, 334s, 380s, 717s, 456s. Ugliest liveries - plain grey Virgin/Avanti (so boring you could actually die looking at one), the 2nd Midland Mainline livery, LNWR with that awful sludge green...

    CAF Civity seating

All the publicity I've seen from EMR looks as though they are the same seats as fitted to the 745s, which is very disappointing because, contrary to popular opinion, I thought they were very uncomfortable. The 810s are set to be the most underwhelming trains since the pendolinos at this rate...

    CAF Civity seating

I remember when Northern did a whole flashy market research thing where they got passengers to try out different seats. Then they ignored all of it, didn't publish the data and chose the least popular (and cheapest ) option. Not forgetting, in regards to the 197s, initial literature...

    Most Unreliable Multiple Unit

Weren't the 323's very troublesome when introduced? It's funny that some of the most unreliable units have come to settle down and provide an extremely good service (458s, 175s, 323s etc). All the junipers struggled to find their feet to start with, the 458s being in-and-out of service for 10...

Trivia: Most annoying sound made by a train

The worst is the helicopter air con on the earlier desiros. Ghastly. Then it goes away for 30 seconds and you think you're free and then it comes back to deafen you again.

If TfL take over Moorgate services will they replace the 717s?

    The Moorgate disaster proved that!
