Isn't it time the 150's were gone surely? Good trains and no doubt still reliable but the last thing we want is these having regular issues with no trains to replace them.
I don't know if this is ok to ask in this thread rather than the Stagecoach West one but does anyone know what the 55 new E400 EV's for Oxford are displacing?
From what i counted on the Stagecoach West fleet list for Oxford, the oldest vehicles in passenger service remaining would be E400 MMC's...
Ah right :) . I'm guessing the reason for the variety of new Stagecoach vehicle types including the Yutongs and 9700's on order is to see how each ones perform then fewer types ordered the following year.
What vehicles are expected to remain at Oxford Bus Company and Thames Travel?
I counted the fleet list for these and the 99 new new Electroliners mean the oldest in the Oxford fleet would be most of the Wright StreetDecks.
I would have thought the 55-reg Scania OmniDekkas, all B7TL's and...
I believe this was due to complaints from North Cotswolds line passengers. GWR mentioned that passengers travelling to Windsor & Eton Central basically normally took the fast services which they're not designed for they said hence the Elizabeth Line and 387's.
I'll be honest, I don't get why the Thirsk - Aviemore Midland Pullman HST one (would join at Newcastle probably) couldn't go to Inverness as that's only about 30 minutes away and could easily return a little later.
As it is, some if not all railtours only give you about 2-3 hours break.
Go onto a website called realtime trains and type in the station, date and time.
When you see the list of departures from that station, go to 'DETAILED' and then click 'ZZ Freight services'.
Hope this helps :) .
Interesting stuff :). Certainly better than paying an expensive train fare when you can pay just £2 from Oxford to travel on a leather-seated double-decker every hour!
