    First Eastern Counties

It’s a few weeks since the withdrawal of the first B7TL ALX400, 32061 was withdrawn of this lot and here is how everything stands. Following 32061’s withdrawal, 30948 failed and was withdrawn, followed closely by 32063/4 (the former being revived until recently). 32062 was the next to be...

Not sure if I mentioned but the final Great Yarmouth B7L, 66334 has transferred to Norwich with the rest, I am hearing from inside First that they want to keep them around longer as they’re the most reliable ones we have at the moment. The ALX400’s have gotten to a severe state, as yesterday I...

Might be because all of the B7L’s from Yarmouth have transferred to Norwich, final being 66334. They’re tired but still reliable and dependable. Also a fair few StreetLites are off the road with faults so better to have these Eclipses still about.

As of 16th November: 66957/66986 have returned to Ipswich, should hopefully be returning to Norwich again soon. Yarmouth’s last operational B7L, 66334 has now moved to Norwich with all its siblings to see out its final days. Arriving at Yarmouth today was 32064 now ready for service.

Couple of changes to report, in total, four Darts have come to Yarmouth from Hadleigh and Chelmsford. These are 42483-6. 32204 requires a new engine but will eventually return back to Norwich. From Colchester, 32064 has arrived at Ipswich but is bound for Yarmouth once more in the next few...

That will be, yes. Scania Enviros I believe.

    First Eastern Counties

Not heard any more about them. It’s gone eerily quiet with the whole new Excel Decker stuff. Nothing much else to report here, except I’m really not sure what’s planned for Ipswich 66950/9. They’re odd ones as they still have the Battleship Grey fronts. I’m not sure if they will receive the...

    First Eastern Counties

Little update, as we are nearing the festive season. There has been a lot of cascades around Eastern Counties. These are to do with a rise in production at Bernard Matthews. So far: Three Transbus Darts arrived from Essex, two from Chelmsford and one from Hadleigh I believe. All allocated to...

    First Eastern Counties

Couple of changes to report: Yarmouth B7TLs 36269/32064/30954 all moved to Colchester Essex, two more B7TLs arrived in Yarmouth from Doncaster being 37150/174. 30959 was withdrawn but returned. The final of the Ex Colchester L94’s 65673 withdrawn. It is also reported that two vehicles, 60916...

It was not a bad bus, mate. The new engine was alright. If anything they need to withdraw 32062.

Everyone, I bring unfortunate news from Norwich. Volvo B7TL 32106 (LT02ZCV) was involved in an accident on the 13 last night.:( She had been written off and deemed “not worth repairing” unfortunately and will be going for scrap very soon. This also means that with the transfer of 66328 to Great...

Maybe, maybe not. So far only 30886 is withdrawn. Most likely the Transport Museum in Lowestoft will be interested in saving heritage 32059 and 30888. I’d assume all of Great Yarmouth and Lowestofts fleets will be sorted first, meaning B7TLs, B7Ls, and Darts (not for a while) should be the next...

    First Eastern Counties

Ladies and Gents, I believe this will be of big interest. The final withdrawal of the W Reg B7TL ALX400s appears to have begun. The first vehicle to be withdrawn is 30886 (W741DWX) at Great Yarmouth. It is in the reserve fleet but is not really going to see much more use. It’s place has been...

    LUL Rolling Stock Preservation

It was kept there for a little while on its trip to Stonebridge Park, and the point is, many of us would LIKE to see it preserved as it’s a very rare type of train! And it’s condition is entirely original except the red fronts.

Most likely, yes. Chances are vehicles 66340, 66343 and 66344 will be the first to go as they have the older Livery, plus 66344 has Great Yarmouth vinyls on it still.
