    Scotrail Class 385 Discussion

I was on it, terminated at Edinburgh Park and the announcement was technical fault. We were stationary at the platform for about 15-20mins with the guard walking up and down the platform as they attempted to get us up and running again but were eventually turfed off.

    Scotrail Class 385 Discussion

Got on an 8-car 385 this morning, think that is the first I have seen them on the E&G line.

There was a refurb in Platform 0 at Haymarket around 9:10 this morning.

    Scotrail collects 2nd improvement notice

Never completed a passenger survey but if I did I would be of the same opinion as cb a1. Travelling between Polmont and Haymarket daily for the past 6 years. I can deal with some of the short-term problems (crew-shortages, cancellations etc) we have faced as I can see the ultimate deliverable...

    Scotrail Class 385 Discussion

None of that is Scotrails problem. Thier only interest should be if the provision of first class is or is not providing additional revenue over that section being standard.

So the last G-E train from Waverley is earlier than the 23:30 that leaves at the moment?

    Scotrail Class 385 Discussion

Yes, the E-G service before the 8:27 that normally stops at Polmont/Linlithgow was cancelled. No idea if that is normally or was a 385 this morning.

    Scotrail Class 385 Discussion

8:27 from Polmont was cancelled due to a fault again this morning. That is 2 consecutive days and one last week. I am not posting this to be negative, merely stating the facts, I also can't guarantee this were all worked or due to be worked by 385's but that is the train that has been coming...

    Scotrail Class 385 Discussion

Looks like another ‘fault’ with a 385 this morning delaying it at Falkirk High, 8:27 service from Polmont never appeared.

    Scotrail Class 385 Discussion

May have been. I recall seeing a post suggesting 385's replacing all the 380's on the E-G but that may not have happened entirely. The 8:27 at Polmont has consistently been a 380 for months so thought the failure may have been a new 385, although of course, it may not have been.

    Scotrail Class 385 Discussion

If 385's replaced 380's this morning I think a 385 may have recently failed in/around Falkirk High. Was waiting the 8:27 from Polmont and never arrived, then cancelled and subsequent trains E-G via Falkirk High trains cancelled as well.

    ScotRail's December 2018 timetable change

I'm a Polmont - > Edinburgh commuter and genuinely I believe I am going to be better off. I won't have more services but I think those that do stop will be quieter. No complaints from me at this stage, proof will be in the pudding i suppose.

    ScotRail's December 2018 timetable change

If a fair chunk of ticket sales aren't recorded from Polmont/Linlithgow to some of the stations Dunblane bound then that will likely have had an impact on the scheduling, not sure the problem would have been that bad mind you.

    ScotRail's December 2018 timetable change

People around Polmont & Linlithgow starting to realise there is no direct connections to Larbert/Stirling etc and it is not going down well at all.
