West Yorkshire Mayor Tracy Brabin promises "spades in ground" for tram network by 2028 if reelected

Of course there’s no guarantee that after 2nd May it will be a Labour Mayor.

June 2024 reopening of the line between Clitheroe and Hellifield for passenger trains

Did you not read my post below that one? They’re both booked to be 156’s.

Can and will train seats become comfortable again?

You intimated that a sprung base is just springs. A sprung base is also full of a flammable material to make the base soft. If it was just springs it would be the most uncomfortable seat ever.

A sprung base is more than just springs though.

Well it’s in their diagrams for June so unless anything changes….

June 2024 reopening of the line between Clitheroe and Hellifield for passenger trains

Of course sorry my mistake. Even so they aren’t signing Hellifield back in.

Why are XC allowed to continue?

CAF are building a tri-mode for LNER. I’m fairly sure they could reduce that to bi-mode by removing the battery element from the equation. Alstom (Bombardier as was) were able to offer a bi-mode Aventra too as far as I know but no takers.

June 2024 reopening of the line between Clitheroe and Hellifield for passenger trains

No it’s booked for 156’s. It doesn’t matter what traction is used for the training runs. 142’s were used for the Appleby to Carlisle crew training runs after the Eden Brows closure.

June 2024 reopening of the line between Clitheroe and Hellifield for passenger trains

Blackburn drivers and conductors are going to be working them. Blackpool did sign as far as Hellifield in the past but that stopped when they lost 158 knowledge. They also don’t sign 156’s which are booked to work the new service.

    Future of the 350/2s

They’re not 125mph capable so wouldn’t get the paths.

Bradford Interchange Bus Station closed until further notice

Lest we forget it was announced last week that they’re ploughing £1.8m into street cleaning the centre of Bradford for CoC year. Also shows you that council tax payers aren’t getting value for money with street cleaning the rest of the time if the Telegraph & Argus (aka the council rag) is...

Bradford Interchange Bus Station closed until further notice

Ah right. I left the district a couple of years ago after over 50 years of living in beautiful Airedale thanks in the main because of the way that the district was being driven into the ground. Where I moved to in North Yorkshire couldn’t be anymore different with council’s focus on the whole...

Bradford Interchange Bus Station closed until further notice

Yes the station is unaffected as the garage is below the bus station. The problem is that if the bus station has to be ripped down if it is deemed unsafe, where does this leave the shared concourse area? Where does it leave the £40m new entrance from Hall Ings? Where does this leave bus...

She is chair of transport at WYCA and the leader of Bradford Council. As far as most people are concerned the buck stops with her.
