No start date yet. It’s probably going to be the end of the year before they can offer more courses. I think they’re struggling (like every TOC at the moment) to get enough trainees in the cab.

And in between those 6/7 weeks they get a long weekend I believe. the earliest start at Euston is around 5 and the latest finish is around midnight. So I imagine even the lowest link isn’t too bad.

Well done SB2015. I’ll be based at Euston. The February course is full but there’s the possibility of a March course so I may not be far behind you. Where will you be based?

I was told yesterday that I have been successful and they’ll be in touch in January with course details. I just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone on the forum. I have benefited hugely from the wisdom, kindness and camaraderie shared here. I hope this is representative of the industry...

Congratulations to you too. Even if we don’t get the job, it’s quite an achievement making it this far. Did anyone have the foresight to take a screenshot of the job description? I can’t find where I saved it and thought it might be worth looking over again before the DMI.

I’ve just had the same happy news. Although still no sign of the questionnaire they said they needed ASAP... have you received it yet?

I wouldn’t hold your breath. I got that exact same email a month ago and haven’t heard anything yet.

When/where did you hear that? I was emailed on the 6th of May re-informing me that I was through to DMI and that they would be emailing me with date and location. I haven’t heard anything yet but also not been told anything to the contrary...

I think these are just more tests to help Avanti narrow the field before inviting candidates in to sit the official OPC tests under exam conditions. If you haven’t done the official VSE you’ll be invited in to sit that but won’t have to retake any other sections you’ve previously passed unless...

I applied for Euston on Monday morning (OPC with access code) and haven’t heard anything back yet although I suppose I was one of the Johnny-come-latelys! I’ve already passed my assessments with another TOC to advanced standard so wondering if that could be a factor in not hearing back yet...
