Hi mate it's always best asking the guard can you jump on.. for the vast majority of the time they will be fine. Always best to do them the courtesy by asking rather than just jumping on though.

I seem to recall it being exactly 10 times.. I don't know if it differs at all.

Like others have said, the parts you have currently passed do remain valid. However if it was one of the computer assessments you failed. You will be asked to resit all the computer tests again. So just be aware of that so you go back fully prepared.
I think sometimes that can be the problem. (I'm not directing this at anybody) If you struggle on practice material it can add more stress to the actual day itself. So it will have an adverse effect.
