Transport for Wales Class 231 / 756 FLIRTs

Great to see these finally in service. Edit: (on this route).

    South Wales 'Metro' updates

I have an allergy to Wales*nline so avoid clicking on their articles/visiting that site unless absolutely necessary. Is there any actual news in that piece? The 2tph frequency has been known since 2018.

Ah cheers. Hopefully an isolated one off then and things can get back to normal.

    South Wales 'Metro' updates

Agreed, but this has been discussed over and over again so let’s not go there again :)

Did they run? RealTimeTrains suggests otherwise

Why is there a distinction between the oldest male and oldest female MP but not between the youngest male and youngest female MP?

Complete tosh as others have pointed out. After the 2015 election there were four MPs all of whom had served continuously since 1970 and as back in 1970 of those four it was Gerald Kauffman took the oath first he became Father. In Feb 2017 he did and then and only then died Ken Clarke become...

Why is there a distinction between the oldest male and oldest female MP but not between the youngest male and youngest female MP?

The first time the phrase Mother of the House was used was by Harman herself in May 2015. She’s actually been ‘it’ since the death of Gweyneth Dunwoody in 2008. As others have said it’s longest continuous service and not age (although of course those two things could coincide)...

GWR Cardiff Rugby Extras, TfW also has few, but none from XC

CrossCountry only run Cardiff - Nottingham with no intermediate stops in Wales other than Newport and Chepstow. Whilst some fans might be going to Chepstow as well as Gloucester/Cheltenham it hardly seems worth CrossCountry (who regularly cancel Cardiff services anyway) to put on extra services...

    South Wales 'Metro' updates

Does anyone know who is behind that twitter account or where that map came from? It doesn't appear to be anywhere else online and I'm intrigued to see the full map.

    South Wales 'Metro' updates

Looks too tight to me to. The proposed plan as part of the Central > Bay link includes a stop in Callaghan Square itself. In the interim 398s will terminate at the new platforms (9&10?) at Central, with an aspiration to extend their services further West, either potentially through the Brians...

Sitting with a person when a train is empty

Indeed, although as has been discussed elsewhere on this forum, there are too many announcements (especially in the quiet carriage) and no one plays a blind bit of notice.

Sitting with a person when a train is empty

That is easy. No one apart from those with an above interest in train travel know that GWR have a quiet carriage, the signage is non-existent and enforcement is equally non existent and has been for years.

Sitting with a person when a train is empty

Noted. Just offering advice. Hope for your sake you never encounter anyone who reacts unfavourably when you film them. :)
