I was in the area last autumn and alighted there with a friend for a bit of fun, and we were challenged by a ticket inspector (?) who was on the platform. We quickly apologised, moved on and that was it. The guard on the train had no issue with our tickets to the station though despite us...
Forgive me if this has been discussed already.
Alnmouth currently gets a fairly even hourly alternating LNER and XC (+ some TP), yet southbound in the late afternoon there's
- 15:00 LNER
- 15:06 XC
- 15:26 TP
then nothing until
- 18:00 LNER
- 18:09 XC
after which things get a bit more regular...
If the front/rear-most doors were chosen to be one of the greys instead of the turquoise I think it would clash somewhat less. Other than that I'm a fan!
I'm planning to travel from Oxford to York on the 9th March, when it seems the ECML is closed between Northallerton and Durham. My first choice for this would be to take one of the XC direct services, and when looking for trains I stumbled across this...
Staff in the ticket office at ALM are very helpful, so you should have no problem at all. There's also a ticket machine if for some reason the office closed.
The car park on the southbound side is free but gets very busy, I'd be surprised if there's any spaces at that time on a Friday...
