I've had the pleasure of passing through a few of these stations on my travels and most of them easily out compete any UK station in terms of through traffic, although I'd put clapham junction up there with some of these.
Here's the list...
Alion Science and Technology has won a $10m contract from the US Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) to study human performance in rail operations and maintenance.

I read an article recently discussing the world most advanced high-speed rail projects, It's great to see so many countries taking on high-speed rail but who do you think is leading this race?
I think Spain has come amazingly far follwed closely by China.
How do you know they would be mainly standing? I'm not sure how many would get crammed into a carriage on the london underground, but I wouldn't say it would surpass 120
Just read an interesting peice on this:
Driverless train technology and the London Underground: the great debate
##What does everyone think of this? Its evident that it can work really well as proven elsewhere. In my opinion they say it has the potential to remove human error but I'm really...
It's hard to compare the two as their requirements are different, but firstly they are using two sliding plug-type doorways on each side with weather and sound proof seal, I don't think we're utilising this technology on our underground as well as these guys.
And the capacity per car is 120...
I certainly agree that the auckland project is much shorter and less extensive than what would need to be implemented within the London underground.
Regarding which areas do you serve, well it would make sense to start with the areas most heavily populated with unsuffuicient transport links...
This looks interesting... Something that we should potentially be building up in conjunction with the London Underground to improve our own city rail links?
