231, 236, 240, 244, 245, 251 and 253 are the seven officially off lease, most if not all of these are at Wembley. 238 and 255 are the next to go imminently.

    Class 730 LNR & WMR Delivery/test Updates

All that has been mentioned so far is that the introduction of the 730/2's will allow the withdrawal of further 350/2's. As the units work a variety of services on any given diagram it is entirely possible that the 730's could work Tring, Birmingham and Crewe on any given day. Driver...

GWML - signal fault at Twyford (21 April)

I was sat at Bristol TM for a while, had intended to catch the 1730 to Didcot and got there at 1720 to find the 1630 and 1700 had not left. Eventually the 1730 left over an hour late but only ran to Swindon. Bath Spa was packed and they all got on only to all get off again when they found out it...

    LNR Penalty fare- tricked?!

Yes I see that now, the £50 is if paid within 21 days plus whatever fare, at that price the OP must have been "caught" between Euston and Harrow. Then they would/should have been offered the opportunity to buy a ticket for the rest of the journey between Harrow and Apsley. On the LNR website it...

    LNR Penalty fare- tricked?!

Its obviously not a "penalty fare" as per the regulations as it would be £100+. A standard single would be a little over £13 so no idea where the £57 comes from. You say "the ticket machine at Euston"..... which one? There are ones down by the barrier, ones at the top of the ramp and I would...

    Class 730 LNR & WMR Delivery/test Updates

Yes, that's the plan and alongside that is the plan to run 12 car 350's between London and Birmingham New Street using the surplus units no longer needed on the Trent. 1744225234 Lets not forget that the plan for the 730's was at least DCO if not DOO instead of the conventional working the units...

Overspeeding incident at Grantham South Junction (RAIB investigation) -- 25/2/25

TPWS would not really be effective in these cases. How far back from the junction do the arming and trigger loops go? At that point the train would be travelling at a lower speed anyway. Using the Grantham incident as an example, it could be that the train might only be travelling at 40mph over...

There will be other similar incidents which RAIB may or may not be aware of.

    Class 730 LNR & WMR Delivery/test Updates

Possibly as early as June. As SCDR says, a number have now been modified and accepted. Route proving, clearance, stop board measuring etc has been going on behind the scenes and there is a "meet the train" event planned for mid-May, normally a sign that they are not too far off coming into...

    Euston delays March 19th.

This is at least the fifth recorded incident at the same location within the last month, and yes the time of day is always around the same time, between 4pm and 5pm.
