    Dublin Leap Visitor Card

I wouldn't worry about which bus to take. The local bus (16) leaves from the same stop as the airport buses on O Connell Street. The local bus does take a slightly longer route, but I happened to meet someone I know in the airport, she had taken the 'Express' and it had taken her half an hour...

    Dublin Leap Visitor Card

You don't say how you are travelling to Dublin, but I was there a couple of weeks ago and bought 72 hour Leap cards from the Spar in the arrivals of the airport, they were €17 so who knows the cost! It was convenient and we used it a lot, including on the bus to and from the airport - local bus...

    Doncaster Sheffield Airport to reopen?

Donny is an unusual set up. Council, but elected local mayor not a leader and part of SYMCA which is all South Yorkshire councils, so the political games will be interesting now Reform represent one of the four SYMCA Councils (and contribute to its budget), but they don't get to choose the...

    More gateline woes - Perth

If you want experts you need to train them as experts, reward them as experts, but also reprimand them as experts. As gateline staff are on little more than minimum wage you won't be employing experts, you therefore need to ensure someone somewhere is an expert and the training to the none...

Weird ticket checks on platform by Great Northern staff

I've had exactly the same at a Northern station. Walking across the car park I was asked for my my ticket. I was nowhere near the ticket machine so had had no opportunity to buy one.

    Doncaster Sheffield Airport to reopen?

There are national aviation strategies. Unfortunately airports are an emotive subject and when it comes down to local planning decisions they are soon forgotten. Leeds Bradford proposal to completely rebuild the terminal was based on a national strategy, but as soon as it became a local issue...

    Proposed Cork Luas

Population of the city is of less importance than potential passenger base, which includes visitors and transient populations. Geneva has a population of only 200,000, but trams, trolley bus and bus network is very extensive. Handy for 3m visitors a year.

    Flights you have been on

Just back from a quick hop across the Irish Sea, Leeds to Dublin return. Chose Aer Lingus over Ryanair on the Emerald Air ATR. Uneventful flight out, return flight was different as due to a technical issue the flight was on a DAT ATR-72 600. Wierd mix of Danish flight crew, Spanish cabin crew...

Eurostar: Additional passport check on arrival at St P?

Just had my first Eurostar trip and no checks on arrival back at St Pancras. However the departure area was an absolute shambles. There simply isn't the room for the number of passengers for two departures and all the luggage being transported.

    Airline timetables documents.

Not something I've seen since noticing a pile of used BA ones from the 80s in an antique centre in Piece Hall Halifax. Quite interesting flicking through and looking at destinations and allocated aircraft.

    Planning Journeys Avoiding Roadworks

One Network uses data on road closures approved by local authorities. it does not employ people to sit by every set of roadworks and update the maps as lights are removed! If a closure is planned for 5 days and work gets done in 4 the system may well not be updated. I use it a lot and its...

    Leeds Station Improvement

After managing to avoid the pick up area at the station for quite a few years (last time it took me 30 minutes to queue due to roadworks) I had reason to do so last week. It is still a mess and I can't see it ever getting better. So confusing over where you can and can't stop to pick up and...

Should Leeds Bradford Airport have a train station?

Either a very tongue in cheek statement or a typo and they meant Bristol, which is about as easy to access as LBA, but does very well despite this fact.

Driving well below the speed limit

Had one at the weekend. 40 limit, I'll do 31. 50 limit, I'll do 35, except when I see the speed camera and I'll immediately hit the brakes and pass at 25. Bordering on dangerous in every respect.
